Summary: I waited 3 months for this bike to arrive after ordering, but I must say it was worth the wait. For my trouble Ibex discounted it from $1299 to $999. It was well packaged, went together with no problem in 30 minutes and came with a nice little multi-tool and bottle of touch-up paint and all the manuals for the components. The bike looks and rides great. For the same amount of effort I'm easily 2-3 mph faster than on my old Cannondale. What a difference the Carbon fork, seat stays and seat post make. It is a much smoother ride than the old all-aluminum Cannondale, even with an extra 25psi in the tires. First time I've ever ridden with the STI shifters and it is incredible how smoothly the Ultegra components shift and not having to take your hands off the bar to reach down to shift levers lets you ride harder with a lot more confidence. The bike is handles great in turns and is very stable when bombing down hills at 40-50 mph. I've seen some reviewers complain about the seat. I had a few problems my first few rides as well and found it to be the set-up geometry (it was angled ever so slightly up which caused a fair amount of discomfort). I love the way the bike responds when you get out of the saddle, there is no wasted energy and I actually look forward to attacking the hills. It just keeps rolling and rolling. If you're a weekend rider like me still using the same bike you had before you were married or had kids, treat yourself to this bike. It will revitalize your exercise routine and put the fun back into riding. My regular riding partner Jeff also bought this bike and he has had nothing but praise for its handling, performance and VALUE!!!
Strengths: The Ultegra components all on this bike are great.

Frame is great, and I'm very happy with it. I do think the high-end bikes that cost twice the price probably put a little more finishing work (grinding) into the weld areas on the frame. Having said that there is nothng wrong with the welds on this bike.
Weaknesses: I really like the wheels and tires that came with the bike, but the only problem was that only a small potion of the stem actually protudes out of the rim and it isn't enouch to get the pump heap over iand into the locked position. I just went out and bought the extended valve innertubes and replaced the ones that came with the bike. It cost me $8 and 20 minutes of my time.
You have to cut the brake cable to size and it would be nice if they gave you a couple of cable caps to clamp on after the cut (boy I'm getting petty now).
That's all I can come up with.

Summary: Being a first to road cycling (I'm a high schooler who sticks to his MTBikes) I was nervous buying one online. But this bicycle exceeded all my expectations. It was extremely gratifying to finish 60-70 (relatively flat) rides in some 2.5-4 hours averaging about 20-25 mph. On our Seattle hills it was very enjoyable to blast up (and especially down) them, easily outrunning cars during the 5pm traffic jam. Ibex says it best: "The bike is not the slightest detoured by the wind; it is the wind."
Strengths: Having not yet obtained my driver's liscence, I would have thought the car was the penultimate answer to all transportation (just short of traveling by heli), but this bike changed that. Simply put, why go by car when, in morning and afternoon traffic to and from school, I can go faster by bike? This bike has no glaring problems, it's clear sailing from point A to point B. It's very light and the brakes rival disc breaks in dry weather. Even with my 25lb backpack strapped to my back this bike is thoroughy enjoyable to ride.
Weaknesses: Note: These weaknesses are all very minor but caused me some problems.

Summary: The only good bike that I had ever owned was a Schwinn road bike. I rode it for a couple of years then gave it away. Last year I decided to ride again. I looked for a bike at local bike shops, and on the internet. I didn't want to spend too much, because I'm only riding on the weekends. I was going to buy a used bike, but I accidentally found the IBEX website. I was too sure about the bike because I wasn't able to see it or test ride it. I bought it anyways. The bike arrived in very well packed. It took me a little while to put it together. It was my first time using the index shifters. I was amazed with the bike. It was truly the best bike for the money ! I rode the bike for a year now, and I still love it like it was my first ride ! I would strongly recommend the bike if you don't care for "name brand".
Strengths: Light weight, great components, and great frame design.
Weaknesses: I didn't care for the saddle.

Bike Setup: IBEX standard 2007 6600 setup, All Integra
Summary: I purchased a 6600 to upgrade a 22 year old ????. I guess it is my mid life crisis purchase.
Delivery.
1. I ordered on a Wednesday. It was at my house on Friday. Unfortunately no one was there to receive it. Oh, well one more weekend riding oldsteel.
2. Received on Monday. Well packed. Put it together in about 1 hour, taking my time. Tools provided (which is basically one multi hex, screwdriver tool) Only issue I had was tightening the front break assembly to the fork. The angle of the front tube made it difficult to access the nut with the hex wrench. I ended up having to turn the assembly to tighten. Worked fine. I needed some better cable cutters. I sort of mashed my front brake cable when I cut it down. It had about 8 inches extra after connecting it to the brake assembly. I cannot put on the cable crimp covers until I get a new clipper.
3. Drive train worked great out of the box. This is my first indexed shift bike. Test rides around our .5 mile circle have been awesome. Attached Polar 510 from old bike. Now I am waiting for the weekend for a ride.
4. Sunday April 29. Finally have time for an extended ride. My younger son decides to tag along on my old bike. Keeps my pace down but also lets me check out the bike more carefully. All is good except front derailer's change to the low gear. No problem, I don't plan on using it much anyway. 1/2 turn of the inner adjust screw CCS to allow the movement a little more left, and it works great. I also left without gloves, and even without them, I had no hand issues like I did on my old bike. The hoods are great. Polar s510 battery died, so I really didn't get good statistics, plus I was frequently dropping my son and had to wait. I need to take a power ride and then I will post this review!!
5. Sunday May 6. Not exactly a power ride, but 30 miles of extended effort around the area. Flat and hilly, and it was gusting to 25 with a steady 10-15mph wind. Downwind was a blast at 30+, I definitely could tell a difference in the cross wind with the fewer and aero spokes. I am still getting used to the shifting and finding the right gear for the current situation, but my adjustments from the week before held up. Having only had steel bikes I have not noticed what everyone has said about the aluminum stiffness. The composite fork and chain stays soften the ride. I am going to swap out the seat. I with my old bike. I got a little numb.
I am looking forward to a exciting summer of over 500-1000 miles!! I can't wait until the kids sports finish for the spring so I can ride after work!! This bike is more for the $. Next year the IBEX purchase will be a mountain bike.

Summary: This bike went beyond my expectations. I was a little unsure about buying a bike online, not being able to see the bike or test ride it. I am glad I took the risk, I’m very happy with it. I moved up to the ibex 6600 from a 2003 trek 2300. I feel that the ibex 6600 is a much better ride than the old trek. The ride is very smooth from the help of the carbon fork and set stays. One of the smoothest aluminum frames I have ever ridden. The engineer did a very good job at designing the frame. The frame geometry also puts the ride in a comfortable position, very nice when doing 60+ mile rides. The new 2007 Shimano Ultegra components are very nice and smooth.
Strengths: Great valve, good components, great frame, and good wheelset.
Ibex is a great company and will do anything to help you out, excellent customer service!!!! I hope to buy my next bike from them.
Weaknesses: Some minor paint chips around seat post and back wheel seat.
You have to put the bike together and fit it to the rider, which takes time and skills.
