Price Paid:  $1300.00 at Perfomance Cycle

Favorite Ride:
Seattle to Portland

Bike Setup:
Aero Forks, Spinergy Spox,Dura Ace brakes,STI Levers,bottom bracket,cassette,cranks,Cane Creek Headset,Vittoria tires

Summary:
Nicest looking ride I have ever owned for sure. Upgraded to Spinergy Spox Wheels to smooth out the ride. This bike is so fast and really turns heads. I love it.

Strengths:
Looks are certainly a plus. I have the Aero Kinesis Forks and although the ride is stiff , it slices through the air like a razor. High speeds are a breeze and it handles like an Indy car.

Weaknesses:
Slightly heavy and a very stiff ride. However I recomend a carbon fiber seat post , stem or if you can throw on some Spinergy Spox or other carbon fiber rims, it smooooooths it out and also lightens it considerably.

Price Paid:  $1200.00

Favorite Ride:
2001 Jamis Comet

Bike Setup:
7005 triple butted aluminum Jamis Comet w/ full Ultegra, Mavic Cosmic Elite wheelset, and Look A-3.1 Road Pedals.

Summary:
Economical bike! Jamis produced a bike that is a solid ride yet affordable. It is very hard to find another bike on the market with a full Ultegra drive-train and a Mavic wheelset for this price. I recommend this to anyone who is looking to upgrade from a previous road bike or possibly use this as their first road bike.

Strengths:
Light, Fast, great component setup!

Weaknesses:
Rigid frame (Sometimes too rigid)

Similar Products Used:
Mountain Bike: Gary Fisher Kaitai w/ full LX.

Price Paid:  $1100.00 at EBay

Favorite Ride:
James Canyon

Bike Setup:
Stock setup plus Shimano M959 pedals and Cateye wireless computer.

Summary:
This is my first road bike, I had been riding a 1990 Miyata hybrid. I've put ~250 miles on the Comet and I'm quite happy with it. The stiff frame helps my climbing and the bike also turns some heads! The drop bars are comfortable, the seat is not bad and the carbon fork absorbs some road shock. If I decide to take up racing I think the Comet will work fine.

Strengths:
Frame is light, stiff and very aero. Value: great components for the money.

Weaknesses:
Gets pushed around by cross winds.

Similar Products Used:
None.

Price Paid:  $1800.00 at Uptown Cycles

Favorite Ride:
2001 Jamis Comet

Bike Setup:
completely stock setup / the bike is great right out of the box / I went with Speedplay X-3 pedals and absolutely love them.

Summary:
If this bike is in your price range than you don't need to look elsewhere.

Strengths:
The price for this race ready bike is unbeatable, very light, fast, and responsive. Components are awesome with a fair price.

Weaknesses:
No weakness on this bike so far unless you don't like the rough ride of an aluminum frame. I will upgrade to Mavic Ksyrium wheels once I can raise the cash!

2000 Jamis Comet / owned by my wife
