at local shop Favorite Ride: hills across the mississippi river Bike Setup: rolf vector wheels-u.s.e. alien seatpost-icon stem-selle italia genuine gel saddle-105 shimano group Summary: This is the first road bike I've purchased in 15 years. I'm very impressed with the way this bike climbs. Living in the midwest,we have many two mile ascents-very hilly. There were a few adjustments made to fit the bike to my stature. The top tube was a little to long for my upper body. Dropping down to a 90mm stem helped significantly. Creaking in the front wheel was a minor problem while climbing. This problem was solved by greasing the skewer. Also this bike is very comfortable on long rides-despite the frame being aluminum. The 105 group seems flawless (smooth shifting-strong crank). Many positive comments from riders of higher end machines. Strengths: Lightweight-stiff frame-fast Weaknesses: threaded stem-stock seat. Similar Products Used: None

at Road Bike Review Cla Favorite Ride: US Cycling Championship loop(Manyunk) Bike Setup: Easton EC70 fork, Ritchey WCS bar/stem, S2 headset, EC70 post, Full Ultegra, Race X Lites and GP Sup Summary: I bought the frame and fork for 450.00 brand new. After I upgraded the threaded fork to an EC70 this bike rocks! It is so responsive I sometimes get a little too aggresive in traffic. It's comfortable, has great looks, and is the fastest bike I've ever ridden! Mine weighs just under 17 pounds with full ultegra and Bontrager race X Lites. I can fly up the Manyunk wall on this mean machine! Strengths: Stiff, light, extremely responsive, and great looks. Weaknesses: I have the 99' that came with the threaded fork, but I easily upgraded. Similar Products Used: Trek 2300, Fuji 853 steel, Lemond Ti.

at Local Dealer Favorite Ride: Tour de Eastside Bike Setup: I added Campy pedals, a Body Geometry Comp Saddle and fenders. Summary: I wanted to set up a rain/winter bike as close as possible to my race bike. Turns out the fenders fit and the bike runs well. The 105 stuff works fine and the Rolf wheels are bullet proof. I rip the fenders off and travel with the bike, so I have plenty of miles in all conditions. For the money I think you'll have a hard time finding a better value. I honestly never even considered a Lemond, but after putting 6,000 miles on the Maillot Jaune and now 2,000 miles on the Alpe, I'm finding it hard to still justify wanting the C40. Strengths: Same frame as the 2000 top of the line Maillot Jaune. Rolf Wheels. Weaknesses: The 2001 model has a threaded fork set up. It's awesome that it comes with carbon forks, but the set up and stem is a little more flexible than I would prefer. I wish I'd bought the 2000 model with threadless and the Mutant Stem. However as you can see below, I've put plenty of miles in all conditions and it isn't so much that this is a bad set up as I notice the difference when I hop on my race bike. Similar Products Used: I own a 2000 Maillot Jaune that is my race bike.

$1200.00 Bike Setup: stock with a shorter stem cause the TTT mutant it came with was gargantuan Summary: I love this bike, its been a year now, and the ride is still as crisp as ever. Lemond is a great company that puts a lot of care into the design and construction of their bikes, and it really shows. Strengths: Beautifully crafted by Lemond. Nice part selection to price ratio. Weaknesses: stickers rather than paint on decals. but thats superficial so i dont weigh it too heavily. Similar Products Used: None

$1111.00 Bike Setup: dura-ace cane-creek wheels Summary: This bike rocks. It comes with soild componets for tranning and light racing. I think That it is one of the best looking bikes around. I cracked the frame after about half a year And lemond got me a new one in about two weeks.I still am going to give the bike 5 stars becase I like it so much. If your want a stiff raceble Bike for under two grand than this is the bike for you! Strengths: The bike is very stiff but not to stiff that it beats you up on long rides. Weaknesses: IF i had to pick a weakness i Would say the rolf wheels,Because they are a little Heavy Similar Products Used: None
