at LBS, Online Favorite Ride: 3 Mountain Metric Bike Setup: Mavic Ksyrium SSC SL wheels
Shimano Dura Ace 9 speed
Reynold Ouzo Pro fork Summary: The search for a new bicycle lasted about a year for me. At 6’6” and 215 lbs I had to find a manufacturer who would make a bike that large, a bike comfortable enough to ride for 4-6 hours, and a bike that could withstand the harshness of a large rider. I found that bike with Litespeed
Litespeed was one of the few manufacturers I found that made a 63 cm frame with a 61 cm top tube. Additionally, Titanium provided a strong and comfortable material that aluminum and carbon did not have. I found that a carbon bike had too much flex and aluminum to be uncomfortable after 3 hours in the saddle.
This bike knifes through corners and has great acceleration coming out of them. It is a very smooth and stable which gives a wonder ride quality. I don’t get fatigued riding it like I do aluminum. It is a very springy which I like, and great on the hills. Strengths: Wonderful ride quality. Very durable. Good sizes for tall riders. Weaknesses: Litespeed does not allow customization. The pre-package all of their bikes expecpt their high end models. If I am paying $3,000 + for a bike I want to customize the components. Luckily I was able to work with a LBS to buy the frameset only.
