Price Paid:  $0.00 at Performance Bike

Favorite Ride:
STP - Seattle to Portland

Bike Setup:
Scattante XRL Carbon SS, Shimano Ultegra setup, Michelin Tires

Summary:
I bought these wheels when I was building a bike for the 2005 STP, and put them on a Scattante XRL Carbon SS, and I love them. They aren't exceptionally light but I haven't had a problem with them in over three years. Thousands of miles later and they still work great. Excellent value for the price.

Strengths:
Reliable, good value, good looks

Weaknesses:
Could be called "heavier"

Price Paid:  $250.00 at REI

Favorite Ride:
Seattle to Portland (STP)

Bike Setup:
Scattante R-560 with Shimano Ultegra component upgrades and other misc. carbon parts.

Summary:
Great wheels for training, I have probably put over 1000 miles on mine so far and they have not needed to be re-trued yet. Many of these miles have been on some rather bumpy, though paved, trails and streets. Overall, very good wheels, they roll very well and are low maintenance. The bladed spokes and unique looking hubs are also visually appealing. Mavic makes an excellent product!

Strengths:
Good wheels for the price, sturdy, roll well, visually appealing.

Weaknesses:
None, other than weight, which isn't really that big a deal.

Favorite Ride:
Burke Gilman

Bike Setup:
Specialized Roubaix

Summary:
I have really appreciated the value in these wheels. Have had no problems with them. The presta valve stems ring a bit because they drilled the holes a bit large but other than that I find no flaws with these wheels whatsover. I especially like that the hubs have required no service or bearings. They also have required virtually no truing with about 4000 miles on them.

Strengths:
Weight, reliability, value.

Price Paid:  $275.00 at eBay

Favorite Ride:
Catching Slough

Bike Setup:
Trek 5000 built in 2005 (sadly the last year for U.S. manufacture). Ultegra, Bontrager, Vredestein, Selle SMP.

Summary:
Purchased new on eBay, pretty good for first 1000 miles, worn out at 2000 miles. Stayed fairly true but creaking noise started and then the mystery flats began. There must be a stress crack that bites tubes under normal riding conditions. Replaced rear hub at 1500 miles.

Strengths:
Looks good. Cheap for Mavic.

Weaknesses:
Durability. I weigh 175 but don't race, and ride good roads. Pay a little more for better wheels.

Similar Products Used:
Alex, Bontrager. Now riding Ultegra / Mavic Open Pro 32 hole three cross, that's durability. Thanks Excel Sports!

Favorite Ride:
The 30 on 30

Summary:
These wheels have been incredible for what they are. They are heaving entry level wheels that you can ride on everyday, but don't give you the acceleration needed for race day. I work at a bike shop and we have had people come in with broken spokes on these wheels, but I have probably put 2000 miles on them(I weigh 195)and haven't broken a single spoke. If you keep the wheel true with good spoke tension you won't have any problems with this wheel set. I would suggest them if you are looking for an entry level wheel or a good training wheel.

Strengths:
great training wheel set! Cheap for a pretty good set of wheels. They last a
