Description The Pasela works so well that it's made in lots of sizes, including one for you. The Pasela's sweet spot is its grooved center tread, which rolls down the road and shakes off the odd patch of debris. ...
Bike Setup: De Bernardi SL steel frame w/ Mavic Open Pro wheels.
Summary: I bought the Panaracer Pasela TGs for my commuter bike in size 700x28. They have the kevlar bead and lining, and are reasonably light and very flat resistant. After 6 months and 1,500 miles of use, the tread is showing no wear and I've had no (zero) flats. They handle well. My only complaint is the rolling resistance, which seems high, but that's a decent tradeoff for their durability.
Strengths: Durability, flat resistance, handling
Weaknesses: Rolling resistance seems high for a road tire. My average speeds dropped 1-2 mph after installing these tires.

Summary: This is for the 700x25s. Unfortunately, I doubt anyone looking for a fast road tire will read this.
I purchased these for my wifes cross bike about a year ago thinking they would be a decent commmuter, good for the occasional road ride, and will quickly wear out so I can buy her some better ones. I was wrong on all counts. Considering the price, my expecations weren't high. The tires never flatted, show little wear and are faster than I expected. I finally bought some for myself and although a little slower due to the weight, about 380gms, they ride great and are fast. I usually ride GP3000s or Vittorias but for the difference in price, I don't know if they are worth it.
Strengths: Inexpensive, long lasting and faster than you would expect.
Weaknesses: Maybe a little heavier. You might get laughed at by your friends until you show them that can keep up with them w/ an $18 tire.
Similar Products Used: GP3000, Corsa Evo CXs.

Bike Setup: Rivendell custom set up for bulletproof commuting.
Summary: Not a very resilient tire. Sidewalls cut easily and tread doesn't last long. I ride in very cold, wet weather in New England and the cold temperatures shred the tread. Continentals are much better made and more rugged.
Strengths: Price
Weaknesses: Poor tread wear, tread flakes off in very cold weather, sidewalls very prone to cuts and tears.
Similar Products Used: Continental Ultra Gatorskin 28c.

Favorite Ride: anything with rolling hills and light traffic
Bike Setup: 2001 Lemond Poprad Cyclocross, Colorado Cyclist hand-built wheels with Ultegra hubs and CX33 Mavic rims w/32 straight gauge spokes, Shimano 8 speed w/Sora STI, 105 front and Deore rear derailleurs, 12-32 cassette, 34/46 compact cranks, Brooks B-17 saddle, Shimano M-536 SPDs.
Summary: I don't have an exact mileage figure for these tires because my computer quit working, but I'm sure it's over 2,500. They still have quite a bit of tread left and no flats (so far). They handle well on pavement, the rough chip seal roads we have around here, and are only OK in gravel. I have ridden several times on the Katy Trail (our local rails-to-trail trail) and they've done well on the chat surface. They corner well and have good braking traction. They really ride nicely, which is important to me because I have a very bad back. We've had a lot of dry weather the last couple of years, so I don't have much rain riding experience to go by. I weigh 225# and am running the 700X35 size at the maximum recommended 75 psi in the rear and 70 psi in front. The only real negative I've noticed is a slight delamination of the whitewall on one tire. It's been there quite a while and hasn't gotten any worse.
Strengths: Good tread life, puncture resistance, handling on paved surfaces, braking, and provide a nice ride. Economically priced, too.
Weaknesses: Slight sidewall delamination on one tire.
Similar Products Used: Michelin Carbons (good, but too narrow for our rough roads), Continental Town and Country (heavy and slow), Bontrager Jones (good off pavement tire, but short tread life when used on pavement).
