Price Paid:  $1300.00 at Revolution

Favorite Ride:
Millcreek SLC

Bike Setup:
09' De rosa Idol full campy record.

Summary:
These are absolutely worthless!!! Reynolds should be ashamed of making such a product. I know some people are happy with them, I was at first but after 8 months the rear rim bulged and I almost killed myself coming down a canyon road. After contacting my local shop and they said they have seen a lot of this so I contacted Reynolds and they admitted that it was a problem also. I cant believe they have not been sued over this yet. Also the reynolds customer service is poor and that is being generous. If you buy these you are taking a great risk!!!

Strengths:
none! none! you have been warned. sorry for the harsh review but I feel I must tell my story before someone actually dies from these!!!

Weaknesses:
The risk you are taking with your life by buying these!!!!

Similar Products Used:
Mavic sl ssc, Campagnolo shamal

Favorite Ride:
Parlee Z1

Bike Setup:
Parlee Z1; Reynolds Attack wheels with Michelin Pro3 Race tires; Dura Ace STIs; Dura Ace triple crank; XTR long-cage rear derailleur; 11-34 XTR cassette; JTEK Shift Mate #2 9-speed adaptor

Summary:
I bought a floor model Parlee Z1 with a model-year 2007 set of Reynolds Attack wheels on it. I had the shop put proper carbon-specific brake pads on the bike. I ride in very hilly areas with steep descents. The wheels have performed beautifully. They spin up fast, are just aero enough, and absorb road shocks nicely. No broken spokes; no delamination; no going out of true whatsoever. They ride better than some Ksyrium SL Premiums I tried. So far, so good!

Strengths:
Light, nimble, aero, shock-absorbing

Weaknesses:
None so far.

Favorite Ride:
1 in 20 Melbourne Asutralia

Bike Setup:
Colnago Dream, Campag Chorus
Cervelo SLC, Dura Ace
Quintana Roo Calient Full Dura Ace

Summary:
Do not use these wheels on anything resembling a reasonable descent!!!
I bought a set of these when they first came out and used them primarily on flat rolling ocean roads - they were quick; soun up well and held 30 mph plus speeds with out any problems. Some of the guys had reported broken spokes but they are heavier riders than me. The wheels were not true out of the box but easily fixed although you have to take the tire off and the rim tape to get to the spoke nipple. One morning a mate and I did a gentle hill ride - the wheels were on a Colnago Dream with Conti GP4000 tyres at 110 psi. On the first half of the descent there was minimal braking - just a few decent squeezes going into hairpins. By the time we had finished the descent the back brakes were vibrating badly and making bad clunking noises. On inspection the rear rim had bulged in four places, the wirst being a distortion of over 3mm each side - my friend was running the same set up and his rear rim had done exactly the same thing! When I took the tyre off at home the biggest distortion had started to delaminate and i suspect another mile of riding would have seen a complete failure and a very bad crash. These rims are made of crap carbon that doesn't stand up to any sort of braking - don;t use them in the hills!! Buy a set of Mavic Kyserium Sls or Carbones!!

Strengths:
Cheap. Good on the flats. You can waffle on about the wonders of full carbon clinchers

Weaknesses:
Rubbish quality. Cannot withstand moderate braking without catastrophic failure. When I bought a s et of Mavics to replace these the bike shop owner said that they had seen almost a 100% rm falure rate with these rims and wouldn't stock them anymore. if you use these on hills you are taking a huge risk!!
