Price Paid:  $1099.00 at Supergo

Favorite Ride:
TRANS AMERICA

Bike Setup:
Full Ultegra
3T Stem
Weyless bar and carbon fork and seat post
Mavic cartridge bearing hubs w/ Ma

Summary:
Supergo packs alot of value into this 62cm Scattante.

Strengths:
Ultegra, Cosmic/Mavic rim/hubs are great, all around super deal for the steel feel.

Weaknesses:
Experienced rubbing on the right side of the chain onto the 53T ring when the chain is on the 39T ring in front and on any of the first 3 top gears(smallest three). When shifted to the fourth gear, the chain clears the interference with the big gear. How do I correct?

Price Paid:  $1199.00 at Supergo Santa Monica

Favorite Ride:
Malibu to Point Magu on PCH

Bike Setup:
56cm with 175mm crankset, 12-25 cassette

Summary:
When the latest Supergo catalog arrived in my mail, I was shocked to see a price of $1199 for this bike. Every other Reynolds 853-Ultegra bike on the market is in the $1800-2000 range. I wondered whether it was a typo. But since the Supergo operation is famous for super values, I raced to the nearest Supergo shop, thinking "what's the catch?" to check it out. What I found was a first rate, brilliantly equipped machine available in a range of sizes (48-62cm) that few companies still offer. Welding, paint, assembly quality and store setup were all at the "pro level." As a 170lb aggressive recreational rider, I wasn't sure whether to buy a chromoly or aluminum frame. The Supergo crew was very helpful by letting me try numerous models without any pressure. I now know what they mean by, "...steel is real." I can't comment about the ride of lower grades of steel. But this top grade model of air hardened steel from Reynolds is incredible. Another cool feature is the French made Mavic Cosmos wheel set. Not being an expert, I probably would not have been bothered by some generic no name rims and spokes. But knowing that I'm running on genuine $400 retail Mavic Cosmos gives me real security.
A huge upgrade that's not stated in the catalog or web site is the saddle, a Specialized Body Geometry model made in Italy. I have tried six different bike seats but from now on, I'll never use anything but Body Geometry.
In conclusion, this bike is a fantastic performer, loaded with top grade parts in every department at a category busting price.

Strengths:
Full Ultegra group---no cheater parts.
Mavic Cosmos wheelset---a huge upgrade.
Specialized Body Geometry saddle---really works!
3TTT Italian stem, Cinelli cork handlebar tape, high quality Weyless seat post and anatomic handlebar.
Impeccable welding, alignment, detailing.guess right. I went for a Look model that Supergo had on sale for about half off retail.

Weaknesses:
Pedal not included. Supergo explains that there are too many popular styles---SPD, Look, Time, Speedplay, etc for them to
