    Summary:
1st (rear) tire had a bulge and blew almost instantaneously after 200 miles. Took it back to shop and they gave me a new one. 2nd (front)tire bulge at about 1000 miles. I am an avid rider and have only had this happen a few times in 25 yrs.

    Strengths:
    none

    Weaknesses:
    tire separation and SLOW

Price Paid:  $0.00 at Mike's Bikes

    Favorite Ride:
    Oakland Hills

    Bike Setup:
    2009 Specialized Roubaix Expert

    Summary:
My almost new back tire blew out during ride - there was a boil first rubbing on the back break...-and then a small explosion - It produced the same tear pattern described in previous reviews - along the center seam -about 1 1/2" long. It was not a really hot day.
After reading the posts here immediately went and got tires from a company that specializes in tires, could have gotten a free set of new Specialized tires- even the tougher Amardillo kind - but rather paid for a pair of Continentals. As this is my first roadbike- I did not know to immediately pay the extra $ on the tires, these tires should not be for sale till they go through further testing.

    Strengths:
    smooth ride

    Weaknesses:
    Bursting - when almost new

    Price Paid:  $0.00

    Bike Setup:
2001 Lemond tete de course TI, 58cm

    Summary:
Well, this was the first time I had tried this tire and it will be the last. I hadn't seen any of these reviews before buying and my set suffered the same wierd ply separation that others have here. Started as a bulge and then got so big it rubbed my rear brake! Only had about 500 miles on the rear when this happened and was running recommended tire pressure. Just junk for the price. Had better luck with the Vittoria Robino Pro slick... in fact, putting my well worn Vittoria's back on and ditching these.

    Strengths:
    Nice Ride

    Weaknesses:
Larger size casing may rub chain stays on some frames... alot of cuts on the tire face and soft compound picks up glass easily.

    Favorite Ride:

    Bike Setup:
    Roubaix Comp '05

    Summary:
I don't understand all the negative reviews on these tires. I've ridden over 3000 miles on one pair of them and had one flat! They are nearing the end but have served well indeed. They go for $40/each at Specialized.com so I will rate accordingly.

    Strengths:
    Grip, flat protection.

    Weaknesses:
The ride feels a bit stiff with them but I've not ridden other tires on this bike.

    Bike Setup:
2009 Roubaix Elite, Shimano 105 components

    Summary:
Purchased my new Roubaix Elite on Monday afternoon. This morning, Wednesday, after 26.1 km, the rear tire blew in the middle of tire. Slit like layer separation on the inside. Fortunately was in town and could call for a pick-up. All my LBS had was Bontrager Race-Lite Hard Case. Probably best for my 235 lbs.

    Strengths:
ride seemed to be pretty smooth.

    Weaknesses:
Well, it BLEW OUT with less than 45 miles on it!
