Summary:
I too bought my TRC400 after having it assembled and tested. I got it so quickly and have not had any problems with it. First off, the looks are great, beautiful paint job, love it. I have done many rides and it is so fun to ride.

Strengths:
very responsive and I love thr Campy gears. Shifting is smooth and precise. Handles various surfaces nicely. The carbon fork and stays really handle the road and vibarations are in check.

Weaknesses:
only problem was with bottle cage screw treads. Mine stripped easily when I mounted bolt crooked. My fault but it gave in quickly.

Had a Tomasso Capri but the TRC 400 is a sweet upgrade

Bike Setup:
I am riding the bike as it came form the factory with the addition of a specialized saddle (blood flow is a good thing), look pedals and a pair of carbon force aero bars for Time Trials.

Summary:
I bought my TRC 400 and Randall Scott did a great job handling everything. I bought it at the start of the 06 season and as of Aprill 08 I have over 900 miles on the bike. The bike has been absolutely bomb proof. I have never trued the wheels or done anything but keep the chain clean and greassed.

This bike is a real joy to ride. I am 6'5" and 197lbs on the 61cm frame. It is agile and fast. I find that I have to brake when decending with other riders as I end up running them over even when coasting. It handels gret in the corners and love the compact frame.

Strengths:
Fast and responsive. The frame geometry is a real plus and the carbon reduces alot of the road vibration and bangs. this bike is a great deal. I am very impressed with it. I also love the paint job. the newer paint jobs Tommaso is using are boring compared to this read and white pearl combination.

I have not seen any craking with this bike frame as reported by others.

Weaknesses:
The only weakness is my size 13 feet. I have just a bit of toe overlap with the front wheel do to the geometry but i thas not casued any problems yet. It just rubs every now and then in a track stand or when turning slowly in a parking lot.

Well, I've lately purchased the TRC400, 2006 and Im waiting for it to arrive in Belize so I can test it. I just hope the 2006 doesnt crack the same from the seatstay? I'll update, hopefullly next week after my few rides.

Bike Setup:
The only changes: Campagnolo Record 9 spd Chain, Specialized Avatar Gel Saddle.

Summary:
The bike arrived from Randall Scott and I had paid for the "pro build". I would recommend this as all I had to do was attach the handlebars, front wheel, and front brake. The bike arrived in about 1 week. This is truly a beautiful bike. I have ridden it for around 600 miles in the two months that I have had it and it feels stable on fast descents as well as nimble during climbs. Climbing is not my greatest strength (6'3", 250 Lbs.) However the bike has been holding up great. The Campagnolo shifting took a little to get used to and is noisy but it shifts true. This is a great value.


Update: After 710 miles a crack began forming between the carbon seatstays and the seatpost. I have shipped the frame back to Randall Scott Cyclery and am awaiting resolution. I will update as to how the Cyclery handles the warranty claim.

Update Part II: As described above my TRC 400 was sent back to Randall Scott and I was first told that the bike would have to be sent to Tommaso for them to look at the crack. I objected but there was no one in authority with whom I could speak. The following Monday I received a message via e-mail saying that they were sending me a new Velocita frame. To summarize: I did get a better frame but I ended up paying a lot in assembly and shipping, plus I had the aggravation of being without my bike for over a month. All in all the bike shop took care of me and I love the new fram and have had no problems on it over 2000 miles so far. I just can't believe the first guy actually told me they were going to have to send the bike to Tommaso in Italy. I seriously doubt there is a Tommaso in Italy.

Strengths:
Frame, Fork, geometry for a tall rider. $2000 bike for $899.

Weaknesses:
Front wheel needed truing out of the box but has not given me any problems since. The seat is junk, definitely needs an upgraded seat. The chain should be switched fromt he Shimano it comes with to a Campagnolo or equivalent 9 spd. chain.
