Summary: OK... This is the same guy that posted this a year ago and I am ANGRY... angry with Tommasso and not at all happy with Randall Scott. Over the last year the clear coat has started to separate from on the frame in 5 places. In the first 6 months, the separations were minor and only seemed to occur under the sticker and on the rear seat stay, but it got significantly worse. I recently moved from Florida to California and since doing so, I climb hills. I can’t decisively say what has caused the clear coat to separate, unless it is related to the addition stress on the frame, however, I only weight 230 lbs. While I am somewhat larger than most cyclists, I was told this should not be happening.
What upsets me the most IS?
When I called Randall Scott where I purchased the bike from, Even and Chris both told me that they had 2 54 cm bicycles in stock and that they would replace the frame and fork with one of the complete bicycles in stock upon receipt of mine. In a conversation that I had with Chris, the manager of Customer Service, he told me that Randell Scott (the owner) had decided not to replace my frame with one from their existing stock and that it would take 30-60 days until I received the replacement frame from Tommasso.
I TOLD THEM THIS WAS UNACCEPTABLE!!!
If you own this bike, I would strongly recommend that you remove the front derailleur or anywhere something is tightened onto the frame and check the clear coat for defects in material workmanship. If the carbon bubbled under it, you know the clear coat is garbage. I love the design of the bike, but I have become very unhappy because all that really matters is how you’re treated when the rubber hits the road and neither Randall Scott nor Tommasso seems to be very responsive in regards to their customer’s concerns. Personally, I won’t do business with Randall Scott or Tommasso ever again unless they drastically change their approach to resolving customer problems. I hope no one else experiences any problems.
Strengths: Nice component package...
Weaknesses: Frame is poorly made... Made in Taiwan.

Bike Setup: Stock With Dura Ace, Truvative Carbon Crankset with Double. Replaced FSA Wheelset for Mavic CXP. Looked fine but too light for me. Sold wheels locally and have lasted 160 lb rider for 1000 miles so far with no problem. Utilize the RS cycle option to Prep bike before shipping. Worth it for speed of set up at home.
Summary: I have put approximately 1500 miles on 62 cm with this bike doing club rides and intermittent time trials. I have had absolutely no problems with the Frame or components. (Replaced the FSA wheels before riding on them with Mavic CXP 6'5" and 210 lbs.) Beautiful finish and quality. No regrets and would do it again if the bike were stolen or wrecked.
Strengths: Dura Ace and Carbon Truvative Cranks are perfectly spec'd. The Ouzo carbon Fork is dead on for a heavy rider as myself.
Weaknesses: Replaced saddle immediately. personal Preference for Flite Ti.

Summary: Been racing for years, Called Randall Scott Cycle b/c wasn't too familiar with the Tomasso brand. After discussion regarding my riding habits/goals their rep recommended the legend - and I'm glad he did. It's not a cheap bike, at 2500, but performs better than bikes I've spent signifcantly more on.
Strengths: Climbing, weight, looks, handling, downhill....everything. I don't want to get super technical, but let's just say that sometimes this bike seems to have a hidden motor and knows where you want to go before you do.
Also, the seller. Randall Scott Cycle. They helped me pick the right bike without a hint of upsell, and since the purchase have been true to their 100% satisfaction garauntee, helping with any questions or concerns - whether it be questions regarding maintenence, concerns with the warranty, or anything I choose to bug them with. i know everyone's experience is different, and many people are warry of purchasing via teh internet, but I'd do it again in a second.
Summary: Here is a great example of the great and not so great of the internet. The frame great. The service from Randell Scott not.
I bought this frame through eBay. A shell company called Bikes Wholesale. If anyone here remebers Bikes Wholesale was a very good little internet company from NE Ohio that moved to Pompano Beach FL. Friends had dealt with them with great luck throughout the years as had I. Bought my wife's Tommaso 105 bike form them in 2003. Great service good guys and always glad to pick up the phone for any question. Fast forward a fews years and you get a group out of Colorado that buys the Bikes Wholesale brand. They do a lot a marketing and get their name out to the public. Most notably via a little mention in the Wall Street Journal. Great start for a little company right?
Skip forward a year or two. Their selling old stock out the back door of the internet business via the old name, Bikes Wholesale. They make no real promise of costumer support and deny any connection with RS Cycle. Using the webpage info for the Tommaso TCF 1000 from RS Cycle, Bikes Wholesale sells me a 60cm TCF 1000 for $800. I think I've made a good purchase, although not through eBay or their BuyitNow, for a frame, fork, seatpost and headset. The day the frame shows at the house, shipped thru RS Cycle, no fork, headset or post. Email to Bikes Wholesale produces a sharply worded responce that I didn't indicate anything but the frame. Great, I make an assumtion and get the short end of the stick. Lesson learned. Here were I find problems with RS Cycle. When I called RS Cycle, they denied the connection with Bikes Wholesale. They didn't know who those people were and wanted no part of my problem. Please keep in mind that RS Cycle shipped the frame to me. Their address and thier UPS acount was used to ship the frame.
A second call to RS Cycle produced an addmition that they ran the Bikes Wholesale eBay store and that the guys that ran it was not in on Tuesday. This from the same company that didn't know what I was talking about the day before.
Long story longer, I got the seller (you try to figure out who that was by this point in time) to ship me the fork, seat post and headset for an additional $100.
As a post script to all of this, the frame isn't bad. Little on the heavy side. Bottem bracket is pretty stiff as is the rear triangle. A friend in the Indy Car building business like the carbon work but questioned the use of pop rivits in to help secure the cable guides. One guide has since come unglued and is currently hanging on by the rivit. Anyone want to guess what RS Cycle will say about a repair?
Strengths: Good looking frame. Nice but not the greatest thing in the world. Should had just gotten a Giant off eBay.
Weaknesses: RS Cycle, Randell Scott or Bikes Wholesale are not the good guys from Florida anymore. Do you self a favor and find another company to do business with. Just make sure that they don't change their name again.
Bike Setup: Reynolds Ouzo comp fork (perfect for my size and weight, aluminum steerer does make a diference), Dura Ace components where it counts, FSA wheels, free accessories w/ purchase!
Summary: This is for the 2006 model. First off, I am a big guy, 6'5" 210 lbs., and this bike just fits. I have the 62 cm frame and I love how big it is! The huge chainstays rock, and the overall lightness of the bike is awesome. This bike moves, and when you get cruising, the frame really shines. Very steady and I felt that all of my power was going into the wheels. I had this bike set up by a local mechanic (I live in Japan) and could probably benefit from a good bike-fitting. The highlight of my last ride was up a hill to my house. I thought the double crank would leave me without climbing options, but I just kept pushing and the bike was with me the entire way - the only thing holding it back was me. It was also extremely steady and solid heading up the hill. Overall, however, the biggest strength of this bike is it's value. Full carbon and Dura Ace for $2500 - absolutely unbeatable. Unfortunately, the included saddle is piss-poor for bigger riders and will have to be replaced ASAP.
Strengths: Incredibly low weight, almost full Dura Ace (missing crankset, chain and cog) that shifts so amazingly crisp, brakes so strongly and just flat-out responds. Very solid at speed, and it has already begun building my cornering confidence - it is a dream to ride. I can't wait till I get stronger and really see what it can do.
Weaknesses: My one complaint about this bike (besides the saddle) is that for a Cyldesdale like myself, it is very squirrelly starting from a standstill. You can't exactly just cruise around on it - you need to move.
