Price Paid:  $750.00 at Bicycle Alley Worces

    Bike Setup:
Stock except swapped the seat and the pedals.

    Summary:
Great bike! Super nice ride! So far handles everything that I throw at it! Climbs faster than my mountain bike, smoother than my mountain bike on the flats and is super precise.

    Strengths:
Strong frame, nice parts, good overall selection!

    Weaknesses:
Fork is a little stiff at times (esp. downhill). Will eventually swap to a carbon one. A bit heavy, but all the parts are reliable and are built to last or cheap enough to replace!

    Summary:
Got talked into getting this bike because I wanted to try road and track on the same bike. The only problem is that I ride this bike 95% of the time and the others gather dust.

    Strengths:
Great geometry for cross biking and road riding all in one great package. Wheels, shifters and crankset at a good entry level price. Rims are incredible, I have literally beat the crap out of them and they have only been trued once. (16000 km)

    Weaknesses:
None. Anybody that thinks that they should get higher quality parts at this price is nuts.

    Similar Products Used:
None. Have only had mountain bikes and a road bike to compare it to.

    Price Paid:  $800.00 at Alberto's Cycles/Win

    Favorite Ride:
Tuesday Night Animal ride, any century with hills

    Bike Setup:
Trek xlo frame, Tiagra components, rolf vector wheels, ritchey crossmax tires

    Summary:
Picked this bike up to commute to work and ride in offseason in bad weather and its been great! Its lighter than my steel road bike and rolf vector wheels are fast and durable. I've ridden it o nthe road and on gravel and some off-road trail and itis good on both. Tiagra components are ok for this price.

    Strengths:
Good wheels for this bike, handles well, and much lighter than most crossbikes. NOt as harsh as expected, must be the knobby tires! A great bike for commuting and riding on rough roads and ez trails. I keep up on even the fastest rides on this bike!I've endeed up riding this bike more often than either mof my much more expensive road or mountain bikes!

    Weaknesses:
BRakesare often difficult to keep in line, especially if you remove wheels often. I may upgrade to v-brakes. A triple chainring would have been a nice touch and they did it on the next years model but downgraded components.

Price Paid:  $850.00 at Home Place Bike & Ski shop

    Favorite Ride:
long paved bike trail w/some dirt

    Bike Setup:
    stock

    Summary:
VERY lightweight; stiff, very responsive, nimble. Extremely comfortable to ride, very fast; tires (1-in. wide semi-knobbies) inspire confidence and grip the asphalt exceedingly well, so it's not a catastrophe if you fall off of a curb or drop off the edge of the pavement. Capable off-road ability, handles singletrack with aplomb; goes from dirt to pavement without complaint. The most fun, confidence-inspiring bike I've ever owned. Purty gold color. Rolf wheels make for a lively, fast ride, on or off road. A very capable steed indeed, the finest I've owned; rides better than bikes costing much more. The bike also handles well in an emergency avoidance maneuver; I had to swerve suddenly and the XO1 responded immediately, with no loss of control, in wet conditions. A sexy bike, it's perfect for heavier riders wanting to do a lot of road riding, and is an ideal commuting machine. You get a lot of bike for the money.

    Strengths:
VERY lightweight; stiff, very responsive, nimble. Extremely comfortable to ride. Exceptionally well spec'd for the price. The speed and spirit of a road bike with the heart of a mountain bike.

    Weaknesses:
    none

    Similar Products Used:
none. this is my first 'cross bike
