at Saddle Safari in Mar Favorite Ride: Trek 7200fx Bike Setup: 7200fx with Schwalbe marathon slick tyres, rear rack, cateye computer & front light. Summary: I love this bike, its so comfortable but yet capable of travelling at 15-20 MPH quite easily. It is attractive and has real quality features for the money. The ease of gear shifting is impressive, and it handles rough roads without any problem. Even climbing hills is easy on this bike, and the suspension creates this feeling of floating along effortlessly. Trek, are known for their quality and value for money, and the 7200fx is a prime example of this. I recommend this bike to anyone. Strengths: Great frame, wheel set, smooth suspension & comfort. A joy to shift gears, very responsive and nimble handling Weaknesses: None Similar Products Used: Giant Hyde park gents

Price Paid:
$380.00 Summary: I have put almost 2000 miles on this bike (mostly commuting)in just over a year. I chose it because I wanted something faster than a mountain bike (for street riding) and more rugged than a road bike. It replaced a 20 year old Raleigh Grand Prix, so of course I am very impressed with the indexed shifting and the stronger brakes. Overall, I like the bike, but I did have 2 broken spokes which the shop fixed free of charge. I never had a broken spoke on my old Raleigh! Since I saw another review here about broken spokes on the Trek 7200fx, I decided to put a review here because this may be a very common problem with the bike. Strengths: Fast, good shifting, and good brakes.. I also like the seat (many people seem to not) Weaknesses: WEAK SPOKES! tires a little noisy, and have had at least 3 flats (plan to replace with continental top touring tires)

at Cycle Extreme, Colum Bike Setup: Stock except Terry Liberator saddle, and SPD pedals. Summary: The Trek 7200fx so far has been a solid bike. No problems. It's inexpensive, and is holding up well so far.
No qualms about recommending it.
Two weaknesses. First, the seat. That didn't survive the test ride, replaced it with a Terry Liberator.
Second, the cheapass suspension seatpost. Still on the bike but going away soon. I am replacing it with a Cane Creek Thudbuster.
The pedals also are marginal, but that's ok, I ride clipless anyway so they are gone. Strengths: Good frame, good feel, quality wheels, good cranks. Weaknesses: Made in China. Seat didn't fit me. Bad suspension seatpost. Similar Products Used: Fuji Pallisades.

at Ridgewood Cycle Favorite Ride: local bike path Bike Setup: stock Summary: I have the 7200FX. Nice set up. Does everything I want & more. I do a lot of riding with my 3 year old on a bike seat. The gearing is very good for that extra 32+ lbs. Easy to ride, EZ-Fire shifters are great for quick gear changes. Its a fun bike for the extended bike path riding I do and will be doing in the future as my son grows up and rides with me. Riding postion is not as upright as other hybrids so the balance is better. The FX set up has better tires & wheels than the 7200. Strengths: shifters, tires, gearing Weaknesses: seat Similar Products Used: None
