at Doug's place Favorite Ride: curtlo cx Bike Setup: Curtlo custom, ultegra, ritchey, time cx bike. Summary: There's no shame in admitting some mid price items are far superior for the price than their higher priced, mildly better contemporaries. These cranks are a fine example. They've lasted, won races, and if you could see them, you'd see they have not been pampered. Additionally, when I've had any issue with other Truvativ items I've owned, sram's customer service has been excellent. Thorough, fair, and generous. Strengths: Excellent price to quality, and plain tough. Weaknesses: Way too inexpensive for the monetary based ego... Similar Products Used: Various shimano, fsa and others.

at Speedgoat Favorite Ride: Alpine Loop Bike Setup: Cannondale Cross (disc), DuraAce Sti, Mavic Open Pros laced to Chris King Iso hubs. Avid Road Disc Brakes. Summary: I bought this crank to go on my cross bike and so far have been moderatly satisfied with it. It is the first Isis splined crank I have tried and I like it okay, it could be a little stiffer though. When I apply heavy pressure to the crank it flexes alot and Im not a heavy guy (145lbs). Strengths: Light. Reasonable stiffness for the money. Isis splined. Weaknesses: Flexes too much for my taste, when under load. Similar Products Used: Various Shimano cranks

at Bikes Unlimited, Gre Bike Setup: K2 Enemy stock (for now) except w. WTB SpeedMaster 32H wheelset, Vredestein Campo 28c & 32c tires, & Selle Italia Mythos Trans-Am saddle. Summary: I didn't but this crankset separately, it came OEM on my K2 Enemy. Not a bad crankset for CX - they seem pretty stiff and shift well, but then this set is brand-new. I haven't had much of a chance to really put 'em to the test yet, but soon will.
Not the lightest - Ritchey's CX crank, Dura-Ace, and Record/Chorus beats these for weight - but the ISIS BB seems to work well. Much better I think than the old Shimano BB's, but I haven't tried the newer Octalink.
