    Bike Setup:
Cannondale Supersix, Kysrium Elite Premium, Sram Force gruppo

    Summary:
I got this post with a Cannondale I bought and though it was a poor design from the moment I pulled it out of the box and set about trying to get the seat mounted in the thing. From then on it's been a bit of a headache trying to get my bike adjustments just right as the clamp design is very difficult to deal with. I have read the USE specs for this post and it doesn't seem like the amount of torque they specify is enough to hold the seat safely and firmly in place. I know I crank the hell out of mine now, ever since it slipped up on me during a ride.

Bottom line go buy a Thomson if you have a carbon bike.

    Strengths:
    Light, soaks up road buzz

    Weaknesses:
Very poor clamp design that is a headache to use and doesn't stay put.

    Similar Products Used:
    Thomson masterpeice, Bontrager carbon

    Bike Setup:
Masi Gran Corsa, Reynolds DVM's, Alien Seatpost, Aspide Carbon Seat, DA pedals, Sram Force Drive Train, Vitt Rubino Pros, EC 90 bars and Sytace Stem, Reynolds Ouzo Pro Carbon Fork

    Summary:
Well this is the first seatpost I have owned after the stock Masi Seatpost. I read all the reviews and bought this seatpost due to its uniqness and how light it is (yes i check out weight weenies .com). I have written other reviews and stated I am 220 lbs but after 3 years of constant riding i am still 220 and now older. Why tell you this...this seat post can handle fatboy abuse. It has never moved on me, my annual bike fitting guy never has problems with it. I do not have problems with it and it is extremely comfortable to ride to include my carbon fiber seat. I know i see so many bad reviews but i have to question, how is it that a fatboy like me can ride a 100 miles a week, somtimes hard and others not, and this seat post has not had one problem? I don't question the other reviewers experience but i have to admit that i fully read all the instructions, went the u.s.e. web site and followed all torque recommendations. I did this because i read a review that said if you do the aove you will not have any prolems. The only fault i have is i am highly overweight for this seat post but still no problems. To me this is a great product with a unique design, light weight and comfy. All i have ever done to this seatpost is check it and ride it.

    Strengths:
one screw design, light weight, good looking, comfy carbon ride.

    Weaknesses:
one day the negative reviews i read might come true for me. so far after 2 or more years they have not.

    Similar Products Used:
masi seat post and others on trial but not purchased. U.S.E. so far so great!

    Summary:
I've used this damn thing since I bought it three years ago, and every time I've ever had to make an adjustment it's an ordeal. I have the original 2 bolt (if you can call them bolts) unit, and from what I can tell you can adjust the seat maybe 3-5 times if you're extremely careful before those stupid 2.5mm screws strip. They've send me replacements a few times, and I just keep limping along with it, dreading ever changing saddles or positoin. But I recently moved it to another bike and of course the stupid 2.5mm bolts stripped again, but this time I also found that the post was cracked vertically down the whole length of it! This is truly the worst product I've ever purchased - it's like some sort of cruel joke!

    Strengths:
    It's light

    Weaknesses:
    It's a POS

The stock Alien USE Seatpost was a disster. Came apart on second ride nearly injured in pre-ride warm up. Sent USE and e-mail about it, they NEVER responded. Spoke to C-Dale rep and advised the company should cease to use the product....Sorry guys...Crappy seatpost.

    Summary:
While the seatpost is extremely light and durable the design of the saddle clamp is poor. It is almost impossible to adjust the fore, aft, and tilt of the saddle without disassembling the clamp. The frustration of dealing with the clamp outweighs any benefit the seat post may offer.

    Strengths:
    Light weight

    Weaknesses:
    Poor clamp design
