If you are lucky enough to find one of these, buy it. I was lucky enough to find a new old stock one 6 years ago and haven't regretted buying it. Well designed and solidly made, this is a great bike for urban commutes and general riding. The frame itself is a thing of beauty showing all of Cannondale's Made in the USA elegance and quality. The components have all held up well even after 6 years of riding.

The only real weakness is the suspension seat post. It doesn't work that well and adds weight to the bike. Swap it out for a traditional seat post. After wearing out the original tires, I switched to Vittoria Randonneur 35mm and the bike is even smoother.

This is a great bike for everyday use. The flat bar provides a slightly more heads up position than a road bike which makes it great for urban environs. It can accommodate racing tires or wider street tires. I've found Vittoria Randonneur's perfect for the city. There are mounts for racks, fenders and a kick stand. After 6 years of riding it, I have no desire to replace this bike, that's how well it works for me.
