A tank. Heavy. Spokes snapped like twigs and I weigh 115 lbs. Gonna dump it for something better. Some kinda weird rattle started after 1 year. I prefer my 30 year old beach bike.

Strength:

Versital, manuverable, excellent conponents

Weakness:

Price

The geometry of this bike is great for technical riding. This is a trail bike for mountain or trail riding. The dual suspension is very adequate for both tarains especially with the lock out feature. The frame is strong and lightwieght that and the disk brakes make this a very responsive biks. If you are into riding a on a regular basis this is the one to look at.

Strength:

Price.

Weakness:

Tires are not very good.

Commute 10 miles each way on this Bike. Yet to have any trouble after 2800 miles. Did change the tires and seat. Love this bike nothing more fun than keeping up with guys on 1200 bikes on your 300 bike. Perfect bike for an entry level commuter or grocery store runner.

Strength:

Good value for price, strong components, easy shifting.

Weakness:

Fat tires, big seat, heavy.

The Passage is a very good *recreational* bike. If you want to take it to the beach, to the farmers market, to the park, down a local trail at a slow pace, it's the perfect bike- cute, solid, fun.

If you want to really ride a bike for transportational purposes, this is not the bike for you. The setup is a bit misleading- the 700c road wheels make one think that this bike would be a very good commuter. It's advertised as being quick but comfortable, ready for all the road's bumps. It is certainly good for the bumps, but not quite as good for the hills as its many gears would lead one to believe as the suspension really kills any stiffness that would normally allow you to dig in and really work your way up one. The big, soft seat that feels so nice in the bike shop had to be replaced after about 250 miles, as the overstuffed nose was destroying my thighs. The 40c tires are overkill, even for glass-ridden Los Angeles streets, and slow you down a lot.
