2015 Defy 3, what a bike, it's fast, comfortable, it's a big bike...stick to Giant sizing table: 6'4" and L was spot on.
great ride quality, finish and attention to detail. Now I personally had a bad gear shifting experience with the front and rear mech which I could only cure by upgrading (to Alivio) and now the bike is in another league and shifts gears like a dream.
The seating position is spot on, and the seat is comfortable, I don´t find the breaks too bad either. Overall, great value for the money, couldn't be happier. Recommended!

Strength:

- Reliable
- Good gearing for giant climbs
- Good value for the dollar
- Sora groupset works well

Weakness:

- Harsh ride
- Cannot accommodate 28mm tires
- Super soft saddle
- Saddle mount allows

I've had this bike for one and a half seasons now. Put about 2000km on it. So far no major issues at all. The ride quality is a bit jarring on broken, rough, potholed roads, but it has held up with no problems to smashing over those rough surfaces. This was my first road bike, and looking back I think I would buy this bike again. If you want to ride any gravel or rougher surfaces look for something that will fit 28mm tires.

Strength:

The strengths of this bike… where do I start, the defy 3 2012 which is what I ride is an amazing bike for beginners. It's lightweight, strong, reliable, can handle any situation and most important it's fast. The stock components are brilliant e.g. The carbon forks, cranks, brakes and on and on…

Weakness:

The only down fall of the bike is the colour, I have the black and white frame colour and the dirt drives me insane. All I ever do is clean it.

This bike in a nutshell is a brilliant bike for non experienced riders to get a feel for road racing or long distance trips, all I can do is highly recommend this bike. Good work giant.

Strength:

Strong frame, integrated brake shifting, fun to ride

Weakness:

Could definitely upgrade some components and the saddle. However you could definitely get by with the stock set.

Awesome ride for a new road rider. Feel confident in knowing that you are on a Giant bicycle. I do about 25-35 miles a day on this bike and it is a blast every time, and have very little/ no issues (nothing that a multitool can't fix, so far). Kenda kriterium 700x25 tires came stock and they are good for riding around and training. However, I will definitely look to get a better pair once these wear thin. The white paint job is sweet, except for the fact that you will see all dirt and brake dust. This can actually be used to your advantage because you can see where your bike needs to be cleaned!

Strength:

Good value, easy gearing good for beginners, comfortable, I like the design and color

Weakness:

Junky tires (30 tpi), needs a lot of input to corner (bt it is relaxed geo so come w/the territory), too flexible - feels mushy on climbs and when sprinting.

Giant describes it as “race ready” – maybe with some upgrades. But, for the $ it’s a decent bike. It’s mega entry level with sora and 2200 mix. It’s a good value, which kind of hurts to say because it rides like a pig for what is supposed to be a bike built for sport. I would recommend that a person looking for an entry level ride with relaxed geo include this on their test ride list.

Strength:

light weight, stunning and well-built!

Weakness:

it breaks the speed limit!

This is a very good, light bike. the quality is exceptional as is the shimano Sora groupset. the white really suits the bike which very good looking. the mud guards available are a disappointment though as they are over priced (£30.00).
over all, a very very good bike.
