Strength:

Several points I like about these:

1)Weight - comparable to anything similar from Shimano, Campagnolo or Fulcrum (same weight or lighter).

2) External spoke nipples allow truing without having to dismount a tubular. Very practical in a race wheel.

3)The trifecta lacing on the rear drive side allows all spokes to be installed elbows out, increasing the bracing angle between the DS, and NDS spokes, better balancing tension between the two sides of the rear wheel. This creates a wheel that is laterally stiffer, and as a result is far less likely to flex and rub against the brakes under power (as Dura-Ace C24s often do.).

4)1X lacing on the front wheel is both stronger at the hub than radial lacing, and absorbs road shock better.

5)Sapim CX and CX-Ray spokes, with the larger CX being used in the rear wheel. Among the best spokes available.

6)Gorgeous Titanium skewers.... A nice bonus that many manufacturers would skip.

7) Price: a real value when compared to ANY other comparable wheels on the market......

Weakness:

None so far.

I took a set of the 2012 50mm WCS Apex Tubulars. Having been both a rider, a mechanic, and having a BEng in mechanical Engineering there were a lot of well thought out features I noticed and like about the WCS Apex line, not found in wheels from Shimano or others. These wheels compare very favourably to anything from Shimano, Campagnolo, Fulcrum and others, and offer all of the features and advantages I listed above for less money than most similar 50mm carbon tubulars. They have excellent ride characteristics, being very laterally stiff, yet comfortable. Solid and reliable so far. I'm really pleased with these and glad I went for them as opposed to another brand.

Strength:

Aerodynamic at 50mm Laterally stiff Acceleration Overall performance

Weakness:

Absolutely none

With the number of race wheels owned or tested, the bottom line is these wheels are simply the fastest.
Crit racing: The acceleration is unmatched, both seated and standing. Lateral stiffness is impressive. Climbing is surprisingly good. Big gear, small gear......
As a cracking descender, I actually had to pull back. These wheel wanted to fly! Cornering was incredibly solid, even in broken pavement. No jumping.
Counter steering was even faster.
I am absolutely sold on these wheels. Get rid of those boxed rims and go fast!
