Summary: I like the ease of setup and take down. Its easy to fold up and can fit into any small spaces. Its loud, but not that much louder than a magnetic trainer.

Summary: Everyone says that wind trainers are "loud", but offer the "most realistic" power curve of any type of (non-electronic) trainer. Well, what does that mean, exactly? I wanted to find out for myself. Now, I have.
At low speed/cadence, the trainer is no louder than the Performance mag trainer I've been using. But at higher speeds/cadences, the trainer starts sounding like a vacuum cleaner. Once I got up to speed, I could barely hear the TV despite being just 2 feet away from it.
That would be okay, if the resistance curve on the trainer were better. However: I have pretty modest abilities, but I managed to "spin out" the trainer pretty easily. (Even in the highest gear, increasing the cadence didn't increase the resistance.)
I've since heard from a coach that the earlier versions of this trainer have higher resistance.
Strengths: I love the quick-release bolt. Also, the trainer came with a Carmichael Training Systems "Time Trial" dvd.
The fan blades produce a modest, but nice breeze.
Weaknesses: noticeably noisier than mag trainers
surprisingly easy for me to spin out the trainer in 53x11 gear

Summary: Smooth, effective, sturdy, portable, great value. Weighs less than magnetic trainers (!) and folds up for storage or transit (great for warmups before races). Super customer service: mine developed a bearing knock after a few months and the mfr. replaced the rotor unit free, no questions asked, even though I had bought a demo unit and lost the receipt!! Much quieter with the new bearing. Love that realistic road feel, from spinning to sprints. Fan provides SOME welcome cooling on backside during long hard workouts.
Strengths: Smooth, portable, effective, great customer service, great value.
Weaknesses: Not as quiet as magnetic.
