Cycling Computer and GPS gift ideas - A bike computer can be very helpful for cyclist, they can indicate speed, max speed, average speed, miles riden, and more are now recording your GPS location. With sites like Strava, you can even compete virtually with friends and other local cyclist for KOM and Sprint leader bragging rights.

We’ve put together a short list of computers you might be interested in for that lucky someone on your holiday shopping list this year. Ranging from the newest member of the Garmin Edge family, the 200 to a simple and easy to install Blackburn Atom 2.0.

Garmin Edge 200

The Garmin Edge 200 is the least expensive in the class leading Garmin Edge lineup, but you wouldn’t necessarily be able to tell from looking at it. It’s housed in a similar sized casing as it’s older brother the 500, and with it’s glossy black exterior looks better in our opinion.

The similarities end there for the 200 though. The 200 lacks the wireless capability of the higher models, so you won’t get heart rate, cadence, or power numbers. What you do get is a lower price of admission to get into a GPS capable computer, allowing you to log your miles on sites such as Strava. With a clear screen that displays what most casual riders care about, the combination of low cost and GPS should appeal to quite a few. Installation is a snap and can be moved from bike to bike easily. Also, from what we’ve gathered, battery life is excellent.

Key Features:
- Sleek lightweight design
- GPS! Lowest priced GPS enable computer available.
- Easy to read display

MSRP: $149

CatEye Urban Wireless

The CatEye Urban Wireless computer is an easy to install computer aimed at anyone commuting or riding around town on their bike looking for all the basic functions you’d expect from a bike computer. It’s got speed, time, and distance, operated by a single button. What makes the unit “urban” are a few specialized features like carbon offset and calorie consumption, information that will not only help you feel better from your ride, but better about your impact on the environment, too!

Key Features:
- Wireless
- Easy to Install
- CO2 offset information in addition to basic ride data

MSRP: $54.99

Blackburn Atom SL

If you’re looking for the best value in a bike computer, we’d suggest takinga look at the Blackburn Atom SL. It’s got all the functions of it’s older sibling the SL 3.0, but at a fraction of the cost. That’s because the SL is wired. If the computer is destined to stay on a single bike, this should not be a problem. Though the unit is able to keep information from multiple bike setups, if you do choose to move from bike to bike. But at the low price of $20, it’s a solid unit.

Key Features:
- Value
- All basic functions are present
- Multiple bike compatible
- Wired

MSRP: $19.99
