GoPro showed up at Sea Otter this year with a trio of premium accessories for it's wildly successful line of Hero HD video cameras. Including a kit that turns any regular two Hero HD cameras into a full functional 3D recording device, yes, 3D! The 3D HERO System allows anyone with two 1080p HD HERO cameras to record 3D video and photos wile simultaneously recording in 2D. A synchronizaton cable plugs into the rear HERO Port on both cameras to join them together, enabling both cameras to record video and photos in perfect synchronization. The second accessory shown to us by Dean of GoPro was the Battery BacPac, retailing for $49.99, the Battery Bacpac works as both a charger for your spare HD HERO batteries or can be plugged into the back of the 1080p HD HERO camera to nearly double the record time.

The third and final accessory we were shown was the LCD BacPac, a $79.99 removable LCD screen that plugs into the rear of your HD HERO to allow for instant preview and playback of your videos and photos. No more worrying about whether you have your GoPro mounted correctly or concerns about getting the right shot. You can essentially plug in the screen, check your shot, and take it off for safe keeping.

All three accessories are available now via your closest GoPro dealer.

Also coming from GoPro later in 2011 will be an announcement regarding GoPro and the 2011 Amgen Tour of California. This year's race could feature as many as 4 different riders on two separate teams riding with GoPros mounted to their race rigs to give viewers at home a unique and special view of the race. As of this writing, which two teams hasn't been announced, but look for an announcement soon.
