How To Video: Lance Armstrong fixes a flat (seriously)

How To Video

Home Mechanic: Lance says, check for glass and don’t save the black thingy. It’s not cool.

In the truth-is-definitely-stranger-than-fiction department, deposed 7-time Tour de France winner* Lance Armstrong showed up on the interwebs this week in this sort-of-not-really-serious how-to video produced by Outside Magazine.

In 2 minutes and 4 seconds, the world’s most famous contemporary sports cheat walks us through the basic steps of fixing a flat tire, something he rarely if ever had to deal with during his star-crossed racing career. The video’s tagline explains that, “cycling’s most infamous rider has been looking for work lately. We caught up with him at his latest bike-shop gig to hear a few pointers about what to do when you break down.”

Clearly the whole thing is very tongue-in-cheek. Though Lance has certainly suffered some gashing financial wounds with the mass departure of all his sponsors, massive legal bills, and pending lawsuit payouts, fair to say he hasn’t sunk to the lot of fixing flats on beat up cruiser bikes. Not yet, anyway.
