Hutchinson Sector 28 and Fusion 3 Road Tubeless Tires

The Hutchinson Sector 28 is a road tubeless tire with Protect’air Max. Road tubeless so tubes are not required, but sealant is. A true 28mm wide, it has a reinforced casing and is great for off road gravel grinding. The Sector 28 is available now and has an MSRP of $109.99.

The Hutchinson Fusion 3 is now available in 25c size. The Fusion line is the most popular high performance road tire for Hutchinson and features a triple compound tread and Kevlar anti-puncture protection. It will be available in tubed version for $79.99 in August. The road tubeless version will be available in September with an MSRP of $109.99.

    A bicycle tubeless tire that costs more than my automobile tubeless tire, while wearing out 10x as fast. Problem of the first world.

    For $110 I can have my pick of the best tubulars available, and I can fill them with sealant if I want to. When will this silliness stop?

    I know people (including some here) are a bit cross on the price, but my argument for tubeless has and continues to be: fewer flats = less fuss + more fun riding. Thanks again for the review and keep them coming.

    I’ve been riding the Tubeless Fusions for around 3 years now. I’d say life of tire is about like others or maybe slightly less. But I’ve never flatted on them. Well, the one flat was when a dog gave chase and got its paw into the wheel and broke the valve stem off but I don’t consider that a typical flat. Besides that, never a puncture or a pinch.
