Kenda Tire has announced it will sponsor the Sho Air TWENTY20 women’s pro cycling team in 2017. Kenda has long had an involvement with both Sho Air organization via the US Cup/Kenda Cup racing series and the Ridebiker mountain bike team. This year marks the first of a multiyear sponsorship with the Sho Air TWENTY20 women’s team as part of Kenda’s efforts to increase its presence in the road cycling market.

“It was an easy decision to choose to sponsor the TWENTY20 women’s team, growing our relationship with the Sho Air-Ridebiker organization,” explained Ben Anderson, Kenda’s North American Marketing Director. “The inclusion of the TWENTY20 women’s team is just the next step in that relationship. Having access to these world class athletes as well as a junior development program allows Kenda to develop cutting edge technology that we can use across our entire tire line for riders today and the next generation.”

Kenda Valkryie Pro

Kenda’s new Valkyrie high performance road tires is available in four sizes.

The team will be using the Kenda Kriterium Endurance and Kountach Endurance for training. Both feature dual layer puncture protection, with the Kriterium End model being the true work horse tire of the line. Super long lasting tread life with a double rubber top cap and Iron Cloak (aramid) wrap from bead to bead. The Kountach End is the more performance oriented dual puncture protection tire. A performance compound with two layers of Iron Cloak at the tread surface and a single layer across the sidewall. This makes the Kountach Endurance an ideal tire for the athlete who trains and races on a single set of wheels.

Come race day, the team will turn to the recently released Valkyrie Pro, which is the result of 3+ years of development utilizing the resources from the recently opened Kenda American Technical Center. It features the lowest rolling resistance for a road tire that Kenda has ever developed along with best in class puncture protection and tire weights. The Valkyrie Pro is the first tire released from Kenda featuring the new formulation of the R3C rubber compound and the proprietary puncture protection material K-Armor, which is lighter and stronger than Aramid and other materials on the market.
