News

Louis Garneau announces Chris Legh has signed to ride and race Louis Garneau bikes, apparel, helmets, and triathlon shoes for the 2009 season. Chris is one of today’s top triathletes with a career that can be credited with over 85 worldwide professional race wins. His success has included being a two-time Ironman Triathlon Champion, a six-time Australian National Champion, and holding the world number one ranking in long course triathlons from 1999 to 2000. Chris has also had ten top-4 Ironman finishes, as well as two top-10 Hawaii Ironman World Championship finishes.

“In 2009 Chris will continue to race 70.3 and Xterra Races. “Chris’s expertise has already been a huge contribution to Louis Garneau in the development of the Garneau triathlon and running lines. Garneau is extremely pleased to support Chris. We are enthusiastic to continue our sponsorship of Chris Legh. Chris represents the ‘triathlon solution,’ a complete concept of head to toe. This concept also now extends to running apparel for training,” said Louis Garneau International Marketing Manager, Pierre Perron.

“It is definitely a privilege to sign with Louis Garneau for another two years. Louis Garneau has set itself as a leader in triathlon, cycling and running and it is an honor to be considered a contributor to their world class innovation,” said Legh. In addition to the new developments in triathlon gear, Chris will be training in the new Running Collection from Louis Garneau. The Running Collection is being launched for Summer 2009. “It seemed logical for us. With such a top-notch triathlon collection, running apparel was almost necessary to keep our athletes training in the best gear,” says Perron. Louis Garneau worked with professional triathletes to develop this line. From their expertise, Louis Garneau introduced a collection that is the perfect addendum to any triathlete’s wardrobe. A collection that balances fit, breathability, comfort, and performance.
