Trek Bicycles was founded back in 1976 by Richard Burke and his friend Bevil Hogg. They started in a small red barn in Waterloo, Wisconsin. Today, Trek is one of the largest bicycle companies in the world, headed by Richard's son John. John and his father, "The Big Guy" as Richard would become known, would do many great things together - Running the Boston Marathon, following the Tour de France every July, and eventually running Trek together.

Unfortunately in March of 2008, "The Big Guy" passed away from complications of heart surgery. Richard Burke was a legend, and his passing was very emotional to the countless people and the lives he had touched. "One Last Great Thing" written by John Burke takes readers into the deep history of Trek and the lessons that Richard taught John that instilled the confidence and desire to be a leader.

"My father was an amazing man and he taught me many of life's lessons. This book takes you through a great relationship between a father and a son. It takes you through the building of Trek Bicycle, and most importantly it tells the story of how my father and how our family dealt with his fight for life, and ultimately how my father and how our family dealt with his death." writes John Burke on the books preface.

Described as an intimate portrayal of a father-son relationship filled with poignant experiences and lessons on how to get the most out of life, the 144 page book is available now through Trek directly, Trek retailers, Amazon, and ibooks. MSRP is $19.99, the profits of the book will be donated to DreamBikes.
