DENVER, CO – There may not be much bipartisan cooperation in Washington these days, but when the National Conference of State Legislators meet in San Antonio next week, politicians will put their differences aside for a 12-mile tour of San Antonio, Texas, and they’ll do it in custom Primal Wear jerseys.

Primal is donating more than $10,000 worth of custom apparel for the annual ride, which is sponsored by BikeTexas and visits a different location around the country each year. This year, the route takes a group of state legislators from both sides of the aisle along a tour of five historic missions in Texas’ second-largest city.

“Working with BikeTexas for this ride has been a fantastic experience and Primal is excited to do whatever we can to get politicians from around the country excited about cycling,” said Dave Edwards, founder and CEO of Primal. “Providing an event for our state legislators and their families to have a great experience on a bike is an enormous service to citizens around the country who care about cycling, and we want to do what we can to make that ride as enjoyable and positive as possible.”

The free ride includes bikes and helmets for legislators, staff and their families and is sponsored by a quartet of Texas state legislators – two Republicans and two Democrats.

“The future of cycling depends in large part on advocacy and the support of legislators. This NCSL Bipartisan Bike Ride is probably the largest annual event for elected officials in the country,” said Robin Stallings, executive director of BikeTexas. “Primal understands the value of advocacy and their involvement has raised the bar and generated even more excitement from our participants.”

In addition to the donation jerseys for the NCSL ride, Primal has also entered into an agreement to the be official apparel sponsor of BikeTexas, an organization which receives donations from more than 30,000 Texans each year.
