Swiss bike maker Scott makes a lot more than just bikes. Their road cycling shoes are some of the best on the market and they have a host of new options in the 2018 model year pipeline. Here’s a look direct from the Eurobike trade show in Germany.

Road RC SL

For riders that don’t make compromises and love a superb fit allowing the ultimate pedal efficiency, this minimalist Scott shoe offers Carbitex upper material (Carbitex is a texture that is derived from carbon fibers), which is secured by two Boa IP1 dials. The lowers are built on an HMX spread tow carbon sole with a stiffness index of 10 and a Corecell foam core, so you save even more weight. For a US8.5 size claimed weight is 245g. Price is $500.

Compared to the Road RC SL, the Road RC Ultimate add 10 grams, but is claimed to offer more comfort and breathability in the upper material due to a combination of a textile mesh with Carbitex. The carbon sole has the same foam core and stiffness index as the Road RC SL’s. This makes the Road RC Ultimate a super light all-day shoe. Price is $450.

Offering a classic lace closure and low weight, the Road RC Lace shoes have a lot to offer for elite riders on a tight budget. The upper part of the shoes is laser cut, welded, and perforated micro fiber and has an asymmetric pattern to offer you an optimized fit. The HMF Carbon fiber sole will allow an efficient power transfer with its stiffness index of 9. To add to your comfort, the ErgoLogic insole has adjustable arch support and a metatarsal button, which is claimed to prevent pinching of the metatarsal nerve, causing hot foot.
