Mavic announced today that Team Garmin-Cervélo, the top American cycling team dedicated to ethical sporting and developing the next generation of cycling champions, will use the new 2011 Mavic Wheel-Tyre range to take on this season’s Pro Tour race calendar.

Team Garmin-Cervélo is coming off a successful 2010 season with many wins and outstanding racing from great athletes including Tyler Farrar, David Millar, Ryder Hesjedal, Dan Martin, David Zabriskie, and Cameron Meyer. In 2011, World Champion Thor Hushovd, Norwegian champion, nine-time Tour de France stage winner and 2009 green jersey holder, will ride for Team Garmin-Cervélo.

As part of the partnership and with a focus on reaching peak performance, the team is actively involved in developing the highest performance products and endorses the superiority of Mavic’s Wheel-Tyre combinations.

“Like all of our sponsors, Mavic is committed to providing our riders with the best technology possible,” said Jonathan Vaughters, CEO of Slipstream Sports. “This partnership is all about technology, and Mavic will work closely with our riders, mechanics and staff to continue to develop the best possible Wheel-Tyre systems.”

“We are happy that Team Garmin-Cervélo gives its whole trust to the Mavic Wheel-Tyres for the coming year.” said Thomas Davy, Sports Marketing Manager.
“After one year of development in common, whether in the wind tunnel or on the road, the athletes and team managers are convinced by the higher Mavic performance level and they support our future projects together. The racers will use a large part of the 2011 Mavic range: from the Cosmic Carbone Ultimate WTS, the R-Sys SLR WTS, the Cosmic Carbone SLR WTS, and the Ksyriums for the training periods.”
