Tech: Google self-driving car recognizes cyclist’s gestures

Self-driving cars a reality? Maybe someday. But it still sounds like a whole lot of science fiction right now. And what about us cyclists. Will these auto autos obey the three-feet-to-pass rule or understand the difference between arm pointing straight and arm at a right angle? Absolutely says tech giant Google, who just released this video showing off some of the new features built in to its still-in-development robot car — including its ability to recognize whether a cyclist is going right, left, or just swerving around.
