Stuck bus aside, you’d be hard pressed to name a team that had a better first week at the Tour de France than Orica-GreenEDGE. The Australia-based squad scored back-to-back stage wins with Simon Gerrans outgunning Cannondale’s Peter Sagan at the end of stage 3, and then the entire team unleashed an outstanding effort in the surprise triumph of the stage 4 team time trial.
The later result netted Gerrans the overall leader’s yellow jersey, an honor that was passed on to teammate Daryl Impey two days later due to a higher stage placing. That made the South African the first rider from his continent to don the coveted maillot jaune.
Indeed, Orica-GreenEDGE rocked the first week of the 100th Tour. But it was more than just results and accolades. The team also put together this video tribute to a group it calls, “the greatest band in the world, AC/DC.”
“Our team came here to rock,” reads the video description. “And what better way to do it than with our amazing fans and to a legendary tune by the all-time greatest band, AC/DC. This music video is a tribute to them and to our fans along the roads and across the world. We made this for YOU.”
Besides every member of the team’s Tour de France squad (plus several team directors), be on the look-out for cameos from the likes of reigning world champion Philippe Gilbert, the legendary Eddy Merckx, and the infamous Devil Super Fan.
