I agree with Tim Ive seen riders who forget that we share the road with cars and do some REALLY dangerous stuff. If there is a bike lane stay in it ,if you get hit there more will happen the driver that tagged you then if your out in traffic.Like runners who think that a car wont hit them and make a hood ornament out of them.Speaking as an emergency responder I hate having to go out and scrape up a biker or runner who thought they own the road.We are the ones who can change this by our safe actions.Belive me there are some riders in my own neighborhood that I want to grab by their helmit straps and beat some since in to them when it comes to safety

I try my very best to be a safe and friendly driver. I live on a mountain with 4 roadways up and down, 2 of which are extremely narrow and of course those are the ones the bikers want to ride. Most of the way you cannot safely go around them because of the curves. Coming up, your engine gets hot. Going down your brakes get hot. Why do they have to choice the most dangerous route is beyond me.

Any advice to motorists about taking care around bicyclists should begin with the statement that the more cyclists there are, the less congested the roads will be. And end with the invitation to car drivers, if they are dismissive of cyclists’ concerns, to take to the road on a bicycle one day to really experience the difficulties cyclists face. signed: pedestrian, cyclist, motorcyclist, car driver, van driver, human.

Wow bike lanes? We don’t have those in New England, we have pot holes and dunkin donuts trash to bunny hop.

Wish a UK version was available. London is a virtual death trap for cyclists.
