Strength:

Stiffness, and light for steel.

Weakness:

None!

Bought the frame for 1500 dollars, this is my second Carrera. What an under rated bike this is, Columbus EL tubing, slightly bent rear seat stays for stiffness, the best Italian steel frame period! No decals, Airbrushed name, gorgeous chrome for and rear stays, plenty stiff when standing. Super clean lugs.

Strength:

Less vibration over rough roads, paint and finish of the bike is exceptional. Climbing hills I find I rarely have to get out of the saddle unless %grade is above 10%

Weakness:

No real weakness in the 5,000+ miles I have put on this bike.

The Volans is a steel frame, I compared it against similar alluminum bikes in the same price range and found not only the Carrera had a smoother ride but its handling and responding to jumping on the pedals is very good
