Santana Cycles Inc. Ti-700 2002 Road Tandem Bike

DESCRIPTION

Too expensive? Hardly. Compared to the motorized toys owned by some couples, our Ti-700 is an affordable luxury that affirms a longer, happier and healthier life. Less limiting than a boat or motorcycle, this tandem is ready for an hour of recreation, a day of spirited rivaly, or a week of overseas travel. Its supersonic stealth-gray finish was inspired by the SR-71 spyplane.

Strength:

Excellent start speed with the carbon spline cranks. Great cornering (to my stoker's displeasure)

Weakness:

Cost is the only weakness.

This bike increased our effeciency by over 20%. We shaved 17 pounds from our older steel frame tandem and remark each time we get on the bike how enjoyable it is. We had a hard time keeping up with some couples and now lead the way. It breaks down into two suitcases and is easy to travel with.

Strength:

Ti frame is as light as aluminum, but rides like steel. 5 lbs lighter than my Noventa model. Beautiful hi polish finish.

Weakness:

Yes, I really did pay $10,000 to build this custom tandem.

Custom build Ti-700, all top end carbon or Ti parts. Absolutely fantastic ride, many DuraAce components, lightweight, stable yet responsive, a lot of handcrafted work to include a mechanical Avid disc instead of hydr model. Race ready.
