Rapha Gilet Jerseys

Epic days call for a gilet, or vest in common parlance. The Rapha Gilet is a versatile top that offers as much or more usefulness than arm, knee, or leg-warmers and is perfect for extending your comfort range with almost no additional bulk. In fact, it weighs a mere 115g (claimed, size Medium), and it takes up little space in your jersey pocket. The Rapha Gilet starts with the same windproof, water-resistant stretch nylon you find in their wind jacket. Like the jacket, it has side panels to better fit your torso. And to help it fit even closer than the jacket and to further ventilation, there's a stretchier mesh panel running down the middle of the back. The mesh panel is bounded by reflective piping. Also in back, on both sides of the mesh, are deep pockets. And the tail extends down, past where your jersey sits, to protect you from the moisture zinging off your rear wheel. The front of the gilet is designed to match the rear. The zipper is offset to the right, with a chin guard made from synthetic fleece at the top to prevent chafing on your neck. A draft flap hides behind the zipper the whole way down to keep penetrating winds at bay and to keep the zipper from snagging on your jersey. The zipper has a locking pull to better keep it in place when partially zipped. The zipper is bounded by reflective piping on both sides to match the rear. There are several subtle touches that help elevate this vest into a great piece. There is a small pocket, big enough for a set of keys, on the front of the jacket in the bottom left. You might not see it immediately as it follows a seam and integrates perfectly into the shape. There are friction locks on the elastic waistband so you can customize the fit. A friction lock is a simple device where the cord slides through easily until you lift it into a slit, where the narrowness of the slit holds the cord in place. The Rapha logo in back is also subtle and reflective. The Rapha Gilet comes in Black and White. Sizes run from Small to XX-Large.
