Strength:

Dry, breathable, wear inside the shoe

Weakness:

not 100% waterproof/breathable

So I purchased these for $27 online. After looking at the reviews of over-the-shoe rain protection and the disappointments with those, these were the best shot. Have worn them 2x, once in very wet conditions for my 1hr commute, and another when there was no precip, but wet pavement.

One sock got a little wet in the heel area after about 40 minutes in the we conditions, I've since added seam sealant on the outside of the seams in case some of the tape wasn't fully adhered. The other sock was a little clammy, but not any more so than the rest of my rain gear on that day.

Today with mesh shoes and wet pavement, they did perfectly, very dry and breathable, and kept wind from blowing through.

These seem to be a better solution than over-the-boot covers as they're cheaper than the waterproof ones and will last longer as the shoe is taking the walking abuse. They tuck nicely under my wind/rain tights, so there's minimal exposure of the material to getting cut up. Although I can see if you have a "performance fit" to your shoes, these might not work as they add a little more bulk, although not too much.

Overall a thumbs-up, would recommend.
