Strength:

weight , looks nice

Weakness:

price , poor quality for such a price

I have my new TREK 5500 bike since 15Feb2003. I wanted one of the lightest seatpost available , and the Selcof TiCarbon monoqoque was surely one of them. A crack came into this seatpost one month afterwards. I've got a brand new one from Selcof , but still the same , after 1-2 months i had a crack again. It was installed correctly with a special seatclamp and my weight is only 69Kg. So , i never want to have a carbon seatpost again because this element is crucial for your bike setup.

it's beautiful ... Expensive ... But the best looking seatpost out there. It actually came in at 152 grams. I did however had to trim down the front bolt ... If you run an slr saddle ... ON hard bumps it will make contact with the front bolt ... the slr saddle's carbon shell's flex and not to mention low profile of the rails makes this combination fine as long as you trim the front bolt about a quater of an inch.
