Salsa SUL stem. This stem slips with a carbon handlebar. I called Kestrel about this and only 3 stems out there slip, Salsa makes one of them. The others are one bolt opening stems.

Strength:

stiff nice look

Weakness:

salsa has the longest steel bolt in the world they could save so mutch weight if they put a stopper and half the bolt size maybee ti hardware

the craftman ship is great. it is the best quill stem on the market. you won''t find any other stem that comes in a quill and has a front clamp. salsa really has the market with it''s quill design.

Strength:

Good looking Strong Great design and workmanship

Weakness:

Not for weight weenies

Great stem. Mine is a quill style, and I found that it''s almost impossible to find a nice looking quill stem with an open faceplate. The Pro Road is not the lightest stem out there, but it''s good looking, strong, and unlike the Icon stem that came on my bike, it''s quiet. The workmanship as well is as good as it gets. The Pro Raod makes the Icon look like a highschool shop project.

Strength:

Large selection of reaches and rises. Easy installation. Appearance.

Weakness:

A little heavier than aluminum stems. More expensive than some other brands.

Great stem. I tried a bunch of different stems on my new Gios, and this is the one that fit me best. Most threadless stems are designed for oversized tube frames and look kind of chunky on a steel frame. The SUL is cro-moly steel so it''s smaller diameter than most aluminum stems. It looks great and works great too. It comes in a variety of reaches and angles, so it''s easy to get your fit dialed in right. Plus, Salsa can custom make stems if you need something out of the ordinary.

Strength:

Good looks, weight, stiff.

Weakness:

None!!!!!!!

If you have a black seat post and black handle bars it's a perfect set up for this stem (looks great). I got the 90 degree @ 120mm. I would highly recommend this stem. From the first ride I new I had found what I was looking for.

Strength:

U.S. made, very stiff and strong. Cromoly a good material for stems as it won't snap like aluminum can.

Weakness:

A little heaver than pricier Al stems like TTT Zepp, ITM Millenium, etc...

A durable and smart looking stem. Stiff and it works great, and you can trust it to hold up over time. Unless you're a total weight weenie, this is perfect.
