Strength:

Easy to clip in, lateral float.

Weakness:

Plastic Body (weak)

I've had two pairs of these and each pair broke within about 6 months, the plastic body is not strong enough to withstand regular use, the front part of the pedal snapped off and meant the cleat would not engage and clip in. Worthless, the Impact metal body was so much better.

Strength:

Great cleat durability unlike the new iclic or xpresso pedals. Time should have stuck with this design. The First pedals have limited adjust ability, but are lighter than spec (spec is 260g, they weigh 238) and most people never adjusted the other pedals anyhow. They perform the same as my Ti RSX pedals at 1/5 the cost.

Weakness:

The screws holding on the metal retaining bar rust after a few years. The bolts easy to remove and clean though. You can't service the bearings without going through a lot of trouble (they're sealed and the retaining nut is a pain to get off without the Time tool that isn't sold anywhere). Luckily the bearings seem to last a long long time (15,000 miles on my oldest set).

Great pedals, can be found for around $50.
