Cinelli Best Of Frames

DESCRIPTION

The Pro Best Of is the culmination of the frame building knowledge, tradition and amazing history of Cinelli. Cinelli have combined the ride properties and geometry from their two most popular road models to produce their new range topping Pro Best Of. With the same race technology as the Strato and Pro Estrada's Gran Fondo design, the Pro Best Of is incredibly well balanced. It provides for incredible frame stiffness and ride character. The headtube is oversized and tapered: 1 1/2" to 1 1/8" and the bottom bracket uses the BB86 standard. These two features ensure the largest possible tubing in the highest stress areas, providing maximal stiffness for handling accuracy and drivetrain efficiency. Through the use of the integrated seat mast and a brand new seat stay design, the Pro Best Of acheives a more lively ride quality without sacrificing the characteristics and heritage that have made this model the prize of Cinelli's professional teams and most discerning customers.

Integrated post forces you to cut the frame (making resale more difficult).

My review is of the 2010 BB30 version of the frame. I have yet to ride a carbon bike that is half as smooth as this one. I thought my tires were low the first time I road it. Ideal for less than perfect roads. The ultimate bike for centuries. Euro (stable) geometry. You would think a bike this smooth would not be stiff, but I can not detect any sway in this frame on climbs, sprints or via chain rub. If I had to use one word, it would be "refined". The bike does nothing wrong. The only thing I could say (negative) is that some bikes that are less refined than this one sometimes "feel" faster because of all the feedback they give you - but they ultimately beat you up on the longer rides. Bicycling Magazine featured this bike in their "Dream Bike" category and Cycling Weekly gave it 9/10. One last note, the published weight of the the frame was 1300g - that includes paint, accessories, and the seatpost so this is on-par with any high-end Italian frame in the real world. Mine built up to just a hair over 15lbs complete.
