Have done over 12,000km per 3 years . The frameset is very stiff at the bottom bracket, rear fork doesnt flex under heavy sprints . Frameset is holding fine, didnt have any issues with the seatpost clamp as someone stated here. Now, I have converted it to road bike with drop bars, geometry is really aggresive, but its fast, really fast. solo I have done 39km/h avg speed for 1h 30mins in drop bars.

Weakness:

i have custom made rear brakes calipter`s hanger, because planet x wouldnt have it as spare parts., Front derailleur hanger got bent while changing gear, but purchased another one from planet x which is much stronger than the older hanger.

Dear Triathlets,

do yourself a great favour and STAY AWAY from Exocet 2 as well as from Planet X. I had Exocet 2 frame which broke while training, luckily it was on home trainer. Exocet 2 has seat post clamp issue that loosens (original Exocet had issues with that part as well). Dealing with after-sale customer care is on primary school level or even worse...in short got my frame replaced by a scratched, damaged and not functional one. There were as well short plastic tubes running loose inside the frame (accordingly to customer care "current industry standard that protects frame"). Huge number of e-mails and waiting time of about 2 months, all due to number of people dealing with one issue, lack of internal information exchange and no idea about customer care. You will be better off to buy directly from Taiwan or China as this company has no added value! STRONGLY DISCOURAGE from buying products at Planet X!!!

Strength:

Solid frame, ridden over very rough roads and frame handles like a champ, but at the same time doesn't beat the crap out of the rider. BB30 bottom bracket lets you feel the power transfer.

Weakness:

Rear tire width. In truth, Planet-X website warns that certain tire widths might not fit and they are right. They also list ones that do fit.
Don't know if this was a one-time defect, but inside the seat tube there was a notch that prevented the seat post going in far enough. Ended up cutting an inch off the bottom of the seat post (it's plenty long).
Planet-X customer service is hit or miss. First time I contacted them, before purchase, they replied within hours. Second time I contacted, I never got a response.

Very solid and fast frame. Built this up for the iron distance at the OKC Redman Triathlon. Over the very poor roads we have in Oklahoma, bike was very solid, and despite being on for 112 miles, no butt pain (could have been the saddle too). And while I don't have an equivalent distance to compare times to (missed my 100 mile split) the bike certainly felt fast. Geometry personally fit me very well, built the bike from the frame up myself and everything went together very easily, internal cable routing goes continuously through so no worries there, headset bearings do not require pressing. Word of warning, rear tire width is extremely important, started with 23mm Tufo, had to go down to 21mm.
