DESCRIPTION

The 2012 VRS Fluidity might just be the most comfortable and efficient carbon frame on the planet. Time has proven that focusing on the finest materials and only producing top-tier framesets with uncompromising integrity sets a benchmark that few other companies can compete with. The use of proprietary resin transfer molding techniques, intelligent geometry and interwoven Vectran fibers enable the 2012 Time lineup to stand out above all other frames. The 2012 VRS Fluidity is at the pinnacle of this technology; The archetype for endurance comfort and Time?s flagship century racer. Interwoven Vectran fibers add dampening qualities to the carbon matrix to buffer vibration and turn the road to glass. Special attention to geometry, the rear triangle and reinforced joints allow the frame to stay stiff and deliver torque through the drivetrain without compromising comfort. The VRS was founded on and specifically designed for hundred mile races and evolved from the theory that road vibration causes muscle fatigue. If ultimate comfort along with light weight is paramount, then look no further- the VRS is a modern legend. Strength:

Quite possibly the best frame ever made. I know that's a strong statement but this design really lives up to the promises of the material. Time is one of two companies (Giant being the other) that makes its own carbon fibre. As a result they are able to blend other fibres (Vectran) to change the characteristics. It really works. For the last five years I've been on a Time Edge Pulse and it's been a great bike. The torsion was okay and the ride was very smooth. The VRS has crit bike sprinting stiffness while making the rough pavement even smoother. A great bike really disappears beneath you. You react to a break, glide through pavement patches and brick pavers, you rythmically step up a hill. The VRS allows you to do all that without thinking about the bike.

Weakness:

It's not aero in the strictest sense, however the fit puts me in a great riding position which is the most important aero thing. The graphics are better than the Edge, but I would like to see less information plastered all over it. 187lb weight limit for the seatpost. (I'm close to that).

I was able to get this bike as a two year old new frame and swapped my old components. It brought the price into the realm of value.

Strength:

Great compliant ride.

Weakness:

None that I've been able to find

I'll make this short and sweet - I've been riding this frame for 1 1/2 years now and I still can't wait to get on the bike, no matter whether it's a long ride or a short one. It's CRAZY compliant, but not too much, and it's CRAZY stiff, but not too much and it's great looking which my vain side wanted too. It is quite simply the best bike I've ridden and I've owned several brands from Felt to Specialized and Trek, etc.
