Very light, very fast, and very responsive. I recently bought the 2011 RC1 frame and did an Ultegra buildout - except for the OS stem and the FSA handlebar. The bike challenges me to be a better rider each time out! The energy transfer is immediate and the bike will follow every command. By comparison, I have a 2014 Venge Ultegra and a 2013 Tarmac Ultegra. The RC1 lacks nothing from the Tarmac on climbing and descending; in fact, the frame is so stiff that it's been described as "twerky" because the response is so immediate. You move - it moves... The bike is so light in the front end that you actually have to be a bit careful with lift when accelerating hard. On straights, best performance was achieved with aero wheels, which allowed the bike to hold solid lines similar to the Venge. HOWEVER, I read an article that compared the Tarmac and Venge and characterized it as the difference between a scapel and a sledge hammer. Put the RC1 in the scapel category as well - climbs, descends, and corners like nobody's bizness - just plain slices the road wide open. But the Venge is just something else - no comparison; it's just a "road hammer!" If you're looking for a fast, agile, aggressive ride, the RC1 is a top performer and highly recommended!!

So responsive (twerky), it can be scary for inexperienced or less-skilled riders.

2013 Specialized Tarmac Pro Ultegra (); 2014 Specialized Venge Comp Ultegra (11sp, 52/36. 11-28)

Frame is sub 900 gram. Fork is 330 gram. Been on my mind since August 2013. Bought it yesterday, and today took it on a spin for 35 Km. Very fast. It always wants to go fast and handling is stable. Power transfer is immediate. Ready to attack. I use Ultegra for crankshaft and FD, and 105 for the rest of the components. Full high modulus carbon soak up road vibration very well.

Weaknesses not yet apparent, except for the dear price of the frame. BUT, to get quality ride you need to spend something isnt it? Will update my observation when I have cycle on this bike for more than 500 Km.

This BH RC1 is my upgrade from BH Zaphire. After using Zaphire for several hundred Km I became very curious to know what it feels like to cycle on a full carbon High End road bike. This RC 1 has very satisfying ride. The RC 1 bike is very light and stable. HIgh modulus carbon soak up vibration very well. In addition to the carbon frame, I use Controltech Razor Edge for handlebar. Combination of all carbon really soak up the vibration. I took it on a bad road (similar to Paris-Robaix condition) stretch of road, circa 2 Km, and the frame really soak it up. No tingling hands after the ride. Very nice road bike. Very light and ready to attack.

Stiffness yet comfort. Very responsive tracking, cuts like shart skates on ice!

Externat cabeling on down tube makes it hard to clean the dirt off.

I swapped out the stem and bars with carbon because of neck problems now its so comfy front and back. As the previous reviewer stated this bike wants to be ridden hard and it's just as smooth when you do.

Stiff yet overall very comfortable. Immediate response when jumping on the pedals. Great climber, very stable and responsive on descents. Loves to be ridden hard with no noted flex what so ever. The bottom bracket area is spot on with no flex. Race oriented stance, and yet very comfortable on longer ( 75 - 100 mile ) rides. Coming off a Cervelo R3, I thought there was little that could compare. I would say this frame is stiffer overall and inspires a level of ridding beyond the Cervelo. Very happy so far. Stripped my parts of the Cervelo ( Ultegra ) and built up this frame. So far very happy.

Great overall buy. Mate it with a Ritchey ultralight stem and carbon bar, light wheel set, and you have a great bike.
