Fairly easy to install. Most of the other stuff seems accurate: Spd, cad. dist. etc.

Weakness:

Price, Altimeter does not work. Have to re-calibrate after every ride, which means spending lots of time with my nose in the manual untill I get this thing figured out. Sorry I bought it!

I purchased the Vetta100 A w/wireless cadence because I wanted to see how steep the hills around here were. Well, I still don't know because the grade percent seems so off, I know that hill was not 21% steep! So I thought I would set the barometric pressure instead, and apparently I'm living at 140 feet below sea level. Am I missing something?? So far, the speed, cadence etc. seems fine. The temp. gauge seems to jump around as well.

Having cadence and HR data instantly on the same screen as well as all of the other information the V100HR gives. Wired cadence/speed kit is about $20.00 as compared to wireless kit. Wired version doesn't need periodic batttery replacement. Vetta customer service is great.

Weakness:

Wireless cadence sensor/transmitter doesn't communicate well - especially in the colder whether. Cannot download information into computer software like other higher end computers/HR monitors. HR strap uses a stock battery CR 2050 that is impossible to find....must use the standard CR 2032 battery afterwards. Wired version will take you longer to set up and assemble.

This is a review of the V100HR model with wireless speed/cadence. After about a year, I started to have problems with the wireless cadence sensor. Vetta/Acumen has outstanding customer service. They have sent me several replacement parts/batteries. After a few more months of trying, I gave up and purchase the wired speed/cadence version which is very accurate and trouble-free....except for the wiring. To be honest, I don't even notice the wires and the lack of problems is well worth (including the cheaper set up cost).

None. I'm looking to upgrade this computer for Christmas this year. Looking very closey at the Cateye CC-TR100 model. Early indications from Cateye say this will be only offered in wired version, but will allow user to download information into computer software/PC and have a power function too.....approx. $300 for everything.

Strength:

clean setup, easy to use, reliable

Weakness:

wish it had the ability to display, speed/cadence/hr and time, but I'll live- it's only a quick (and easy) button away.

This is for the v100hr wireless speed/cadence. This thing is awsome- I bought it mostly because of price. I needed to upgrade from my polar xtrainer and I dont deal with interference from overhead wires anymore.

Strength:

Totally wireless, heaps of functions

Weakness:

This review is for the wireless speed/cadence model. These comments do not apply to the wired version. If you have zero'd its timers and start to ride, the comp will auto start from wheel rotation - good. When you ride off and then pause for a while it will go to sleep - good. When you take off again, it will not wake itself up!!! BAD To wake it up, you have to remember to push a button to manually kick it off which of course you don't think to do until your miles down the road and glance down at your non-existent speed. While its asleep it does not continue to accumulate data such as distance etc so when you do wake it up you've lost heaps of data. - VERY BAD Small text around the outside of the display is rather hard to read as its very close to the bezel edge.

NOTE This review is for the wireless speed/cadence model. In concept its a great computer but its totally let down by this one problem. How stupid that it can start from a wireless trigger (front wheel) but can not re-awaken itself via wireless (the wired versions are ok) input. I always forget to stab a button to wake it up so I loose heaps of data before I look down and remember (and curse). Only takes a couple of minutes to go to sleep so this happens all too easily. Rather sorry I bought it. I'll be buying the new Mavic to replace this joke computer. Only 2 flamin' turds as what point is there in having the extra weight of a computer that isn't recording anything.

Strength:

Wireless, works well, screen sequencing allows for Speed/Cad Altitude/%slope viewing with one button hit, as well as other screens. Stopwatch feature for tracking time, distance and altitude change for climbs within a ride.

Weakness:

Screen sometimes hard to see in bright sunlight. Pricey

Have only had out on two road rides. Easy, clean install. Wireless cadence with Altitude were reasons for changing from Sigma BC 1200. So far flawless functionality. I was worried about interference from Polor HRM, but that has not occured. So far I am very pleased.

Strength:

Great customer service. Very clean looks. Easy to set up.

Weakness:

First wheel speed sensor died after 3 rides. Takes some time to get used to navigating through all the functions.

I got this computer with the wireless cadence for my Mercier Corvus. Really nice looking, easy to set up, and no wires. It worked great until the third ride, and then the speed quit reading. I tried adjusting the distance from the magnet and replaced the battery on the speed sensor. Nothing worked. I emailed Vetta and they had a new sensor in the mail the next day. Their customer service is fantastic. This corrected the problem and I've had no complaints since (despite riding in rain, etc.).

Strength:

Nice looking; no wires; easy install and setup; does work pretty well when functioning properly

Weakness:

It's a total POS; I've had to reset this computer before every ride; screen bonks for no apparent reason.

Well, what can I say .. it's very pretty and discrete. Easy setup, easy instructions. However, I have encountered problems every single time I have gotten on my bike. Screen will go blank or display all characters for no reason. Got all new batteries, same problems. Fixed battery contacts, still same problems. BTW, this is the wireless cadence version.

Strength:

Wireless. Speed and Distance works.

Weakness:

Cadence unreliable.

I have the wireless cadence version. It was easy to install but that is all I can say. The speed and distance works like a charm but the cadence needs a lot of help. Sometimes it would work but most times it didn't. I thought it was just the unit I bought so I sent it back and got a replacement. The new one worked pretty much the same way as the first. I changed every single battery there was think maybe that was the problem but still had inconsistent results then finally it just stop reading the altogether. I've moved the unit as close as it will get. Now I'm sitting around waiting for Vetta to send me a new cadence sensor. I doubt that it will work but I'll keep you informed.

Strength:

No cables so its easy to mount. Good mounting instructions.

Weakness:

Where shall I begin. A mind of its own, small display, non-intuitive sequencing, cadance updates very slow, balky operation, poor signal pickup, enough said.

There is always a minority report and this one is it for the V100. I bought the non-altitute model because I could get cadance and all the other functions without having to run any cable, and that is the one strength of this unit. But...the unit never worked right from the get-go, sometimes it would give me speed in mph, other times it must have thought it was in a Europian time zone because the data was in kph. Signals would drop out in the middle of a ride, and even moving the pickup transmitter to the top of the fork didn't help. At times the unit would start and then just shut down. Add to the fact that the read out is smaller then competitve units, readout sequencing is not intuitive, and the cadence changes are so slow that your 30 seconds into a decent or climb before the V100 knows your no loner on a flat, well the unit is now back at the dealer and I'm using a more realiable and easier to operate and read Specialized Speedzone Classic Elite.

Strength:

Features, wireless speed and cadence. Ease of use, ease of installation.

Weakness:

none so far

Review is for the V100 wireless speed and wireless cadence. Easy install quick to get up and working. I spent about 10 minutes reading manual and was off and running. Great features. Wireless cadence works great as does the wireless speed. Clean install without the wires and it took about 15 minutes to install. Great computer so far, only 400 miles on it. Seems durable and wireless transmitters work great.
