Hill Stage
Another day in the Vosges region and lots more climbing. This ever-rolling affair includes six rated climbs, including the cat. 1 Le Markstein. This is the perfect day for riders chasing the polka-dot jersey awarded to the King of the Mountains to begin their points chase. But that doesn’t mean the GC contenders wont be on high alert. Look for the big names to test each other with a few well-timed attacks. At the end, though, a big group will have time to come back together.
Our pick: There’s too much climbing for the pure sprinters to survive. Instead look for Peter Sagan to grab a stage win and take control in the chase for the green points jersey.
