Technical cycling apparel brand ASSOS of Switzerland is collaborating with menswear designer Luis Fernandez to launch four limited-edition jerseys. Each jersey is injected with Fernandez’s unique approach to shape, gradient, and color typical of his previous work across both architecture and fashion.
Fernandez drew on inspiration from his background in skyscraper architecture to create the jerseys. All elements, from the geometric block design in the Anthracite to the modern, triangulated artwork in the Quartz are a nod to his affinity for physical structure.
Fernandez has long been fascinated with the landscape, precision, and engineering in Switzerland, which made working alongside ASSOS, a brand with a deep-rooted 40-year heritage in the canton of Ticino, an obvious partner. The designs are inspired by elements of the Swiss landscape – from iconic mountain ranges to snaking switchbacks – resulting in bold abstract patterns.
“Tech and performance has always been a big part of my design work,” said Fernandez. “So collaborating with ASSOS, a brand that has pioneered performance and Swiss-precision in the competitive cycling market was a great treat.”
The Luis Fernandez Collection is available now in limited numbers through www.assos.com.
