There’s nothing wrong with the traditional frame pump, but in terms of saving weight (not to mention time) the CO2 cartridge inflator is a superior option when it comes to fixing mid-ride flats. The downside is that if you get it wrong – and only have one cartridge – you may just have to call for a ride. To avoid that ignominious outcome, here’s a primer on proper CO2 cartridge usage.
