Florida based wheelmaker American Classic is affirming that road tubeless wheels are here to stay, launching a tubeless-ready version of its popular Sprint 350 alloy clincher wheels. These $899 hoops have a 22mm rim width, CNC-machined brake track, and come in a variety of hole count combinations, including the go-to 28-front/32-rear.

American Classic Hub American Classic CutawayHole counts included 28/32, while this cutaway reveals the thinned sidewalls where weight is shaved.

Claimed weight for the rim is 350 grams with the complete wheelset tipping the scales at a highly competitive 1396 grams for the pair. American Classic front man Bill Shook says the new Sprint 350s are among the lightest wheels his company makes.

"They're a great choice for the privateer racer or anyone who wants to go fast," added Shook. "And the weight is competitive with a lot of carbon wheels. We use a thicker nipple bed, but thinner sidewalls, which is how we keep the weight down."
