POC has launched a new line of road cycling kit dubbed Raceday. As you’d expect with a name like that, the Swedish helmet, sunglasses and apparel makers say the new collection is focused purely on performance and aerodynamics.

“By considering new combinations of materials, patterns and aerodynamic research we have created a collection which will support a rider’s ambition of optimizing every watt and finding that extra edge when it really matters,” said Oscar Huss, POC’s head of product development.

The $210 Aero Jersey was designed to improve aerodynamic efficiency and offer a combination of low weight, comfort and moisture management.

POC says the Raceday kit evolved from wind tunnel and CFD testing as well as collaboration with the Cannondale-Garmin Pro Cycling Team. By incorporating that experience and knowledge, textile engineers were able to integrate advanced fabrics and design to reduce drag while maintaining breathability, claims POC.

The position of certain fabrics has been considered so efficiency and comfort are not compromised. That includes Coldblack technology and the dimpled shoulder zones used in the Aero TT Suit, the Multi D WO Sleeveless Suit and the Aero Jersey.

We have several test pieces in the review queue and will post a more detailed report soon. In the meantime, for more information visit www.pocsports.com and check out the photo gallery below.
